my dad tought me, in 2.0l laguna, i've never had a professional lesson, caused a bit of tension between us when we were out on the road but that was usually fairly short lived, but all worked out well in the end, passed first time. i hated learning, not because of my dad, just didn't enjoy it at all, but i (we?) stuck through it, was worthwhile in the end.
I actually learnt to drive when i was 15 because I was in the under 17's driving club with my younger step-sister so by the time I had my first lesson I already knew how to drive except I had a b**tard driving instructor who just assumed I was being cocky!
(not that I thought I was great at it but I already knew where the clutch brake and accelerator were and how to use them!)
The idea is to find an instructor that has A LOT of patience because my two male instructors didnt have ANY! (One of them was actually taken to court by another pupil after he told him to drive out in front of another car!!)
Eventually i decided after many tears to tell them to shove it and got myself a female one, who gradually helped me regain my confidence and I finally passed.

There's a thin person in every fat person.....that's because they just ate them.
Learning to drive at the moment.......@ 24 hehe
I had about 24 lessons when i was 17, passed my theory but failed my test. I failed cos after 45 mins the examiner looked at me and said 'well done mr Keen that was very good, i think we can go back to the base now'
i.e. You've Passed
So I looked at him, grin on my face cos i was so relieved. At which point he jammed the dual control brakes on because i was ' not looking at the road'
i.e. You've just Failed
Mofo
Anyway I've bought a car and i'm driving around all the time with my parents and friends (who all passed when we were 17) and having a great old time. In about a month i'll get 4 or 5 lessons to cover manouvers and not speeding then it's test time again.
I don't care if i get tested by cindy Crawford - I'm not looking.
Sorry i thought that was the gearstick....
Good luck to everyone learning,.,...
Do you think when Jesus comes back..... he ever wants to see another cross.......? *{God bless you Bill}

Passed my test first time, two minors and a right telling off for pulling an emergency stop BEFORE he the test guy told me to... THERE WAS A BLOODY CAT IN THE ROAD!

Tommorow will be my 6th lesson, I have improved a lot! First lesson, I must of stalled the car about 20 times. Last weeks lesson I Stalled 3 times. My driving instructor is a nutter, he is always talking to me about lesbians, and pointing out fit women we drive by.
The amount of time I've gotta do that now, even with a license*!Originally Posted by streetster

*In my defense I've only been driving for 2 weeks, even then not often.

The moral of the story being that you don't pass the test until you're parked in at the test centre with the engine turned offOriginally Posted by funnelhead
