    Re: Help regarding EON elec bill

    I happen to be on a prepay key electric meter (I moved into a place with one - it's not due to me failing to pay). I have, however opted to keep it for the time being, as cigarette packet (turn of phrase - I do not smoke) calculations showed that because there's no higher rate for the first n kWh, despite the fact that its rate is higher than the "second" rate of a credit based metering system, I, as a lone occupant of the flat, use a small enough amount that it could well be more cost effective.

    We'll see in a few months.

    I realise now that this is of little use to you. I guess my point is - examine what you're being offered closely and match it up both to how much you use, and when.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    that won't help... you'll still be using as much electricity.

    It's deeper routed than a tarriff problem.

    Steve's situtation is a proper calculation and I even considered payin in advance for the discount that's availble.. but then it turned out to be the same discount as paying on DD so I didn't.

    But for Andehh I think it's basic power useage that's too high.

    Re: Help regarding EON elec bill

    I've just switched tariffs (still with British Ggas) cos of this thread.

    Used GO Compare to make proper comparrisons... input my monthly payments that are ok for my use and switching to their current deal is about £90 per yes better for me, so glad we're talking power bills

    But it has to be said, Scottish Power was allegedly cheaper again.. but I really strugggled with their website, which twice redirected me to a page insisting on all my details just to give me a quote.. so they lost out.
