Right try again (power went out at work just as I was moving the mouse to the submit button). I live in County Durham and not Durham like some twerps in the marketing dept. in the Tourist Board think (their reasoning being it confuses people, the name making people think that the county is in Ireland
). Generally love the place, the countryside is a pleasant mix of tree/hedge-lined fields, open moorland and forest (I'm thinking of south end of Co. Durham here) I also love it's history as it's very much unlike any other part of the country (it had it's own currency, standing army that was independent of the crown and was ruled by Prince-Bishops, it's also the site of the first rib-vaulted cathedral in the country, if not Europe that's been standing in one form or another for over a thousand years on the same site, sorry bit of a history nerd
).
The only other place in the country I'd live is Teesdale, this is the most southerly part of Co. Durham which borders onto North Yorkshire (you can see the highest pub in England from my Grandfathers garden) and very much a rural locale (the only drawback being the internet access isn't what you'd call nippy).

I'm a London lad, and wouldn't change it (within the boundaries of the UK, I plan to live abroad in the future), but if I had to move it wouldn't be far away - Kent or Sussex, where I've spent some good times.
London here and not much will change I suppose unless other counties will catch with salaries lol
thats the thing about london, when you go to say manchester, its like your in a 3rd world country, everything is so cheap, and the streets are full of ****.

I live in West Sussex, and it's my favourite of course!
Second favourite would be Surrey I think - and yet I'm not sure why! Maybe it's because its on the way to London!

Live in Surrey now, but hail from North Yorkshire, just north of York. Yorkshire is definitely my favourite county, would love to live there when I've made my fortunes
