which other forums are you a member of?

i'm just a little intrigued to know whether or not many of our members here at H3XU5 are also members of forums elsewhere.

which forum(s) are you a member of?
why are you a member of another forum?
what genre of forum do you generally look for?
and how often do you visit these forums?


i'm personally not a member of any other forums, mainly because i've always been content with the attitude and content i find here at Hexus, i find it a nice place to post and the discussions are well moderated (which i find is a must).

why are you a member of another forum?

Kustom Forums were the first forums I was a member of, used to be quite busy but is a lot quieter now. The later two specialize in particular subjects which are not widely discussed on hexus, xda-devs is a place to get new roms and apps for windows mobile phones, and ford-mondeo is well about mondeo's.

I am a member of the Steam Forums with a stupid number of posts (more than here) but I haven't been on there for a long time. I used to help run a dedicated CS:S server and was an active member of one of the original CS:S clans (eg started in 04/05)

Many, many technology forums. Xtreme Systems, Overclockersclub, ***********, overclockers, aria, novatech, benchtec, hwbot, chilled pc, watercooling uk, bit-tech, clunk. Browse them all daily, only post on a few now though.

Why? To keep informed with the latest goings on or just to have a nice discussion with good people.

I joined redcafe.net (Man Utd forum) years ago, I think because some rumours were flying round that we were going to sign Michael Owen and I wanted to see if any fans thought that was even a vaguely sensible move... ironic, in a way. I don't post much any more though, just tend to read if anything.

And I used to do all of my tech/computer/gaming talk on my clan forums back when I used to do a lot of internet gaming, but these days that's pretty much all ceased so that's all transferred to Hexus.

I'm probably a member of about 50 forums, but I don't actually post on any of them - they were just temporary things that for one reason or another I gave up with.

Techguy was okay, but by and large all of the support they provided was on a really basic level (i.e. my computer won't turn on) and any time a difficult question was asked, nobody answered, so I gave up with that. And when they used to jump on anybody who had uTorrent and accuse them of being a pirate it got a bit irritating. I used NGEmu for a little while as well when I was following PCSX2 but once I'd lost interest in that there wasn't much point posting any more. SI Games community is good for discussing Football Manager, but not much else... I think that's about it really

Quite a few really. On one forum I have 15,000+ posts (shameful, I know), another I have 5,000+ posts and others (like hexus) around 500-1000 posts. I'd say I browse hexus the most but post least, since I generally observe discussions rather than partake in them. Whilst on other forums it's the other way about.
