Stonking Deal or am i missing something?

The "hitech show" is in Norwich this weekend, it's basically just a gadget expo where they sell stuff off at discount prices. The deal that caught my eye however is this :

    Sharp LC40LE600E LEDTV http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/ente...E600E-01799118

    Sharp BDHP22H Blu-Ray Player http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/ente...HP22H-04799027

    and stand http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/ente...050-3-50CE0042

    for £976 + £100 cashback.

no mention of ex demo or factory seconds, limited stock mentioned on other offeres but not this one.

    http://www.hitechshow.co.uk/hi-tech-leaflet.pdf

Full list of the offers ^^ about 9mb

    Don't look a gift-horse in the mouth ???
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

It's cheaper elsewhere without the stand

Unless the cashback is an exclusive to them which I doubt

Re: Stonking Deal or am i missing something?

but with the cashback offer its £876 with a stand! so effectivly your paying about £80 for a blu-ray player and a stand

I'm definatly going to have a look at this. Fingers crossed its as good as it seems

Have a google round and you can get the 700e with free blu ray for slightly less. Its supposed to be a better TV and has a 100hz mode.

    Well about £990 anyways!

Cashback, I've never bought anything with a cashback offer.
There are so many stories of company's not paying due to users not following to the letter, all their convoluted T&C and time restrictions, that I would not even consider a purchase with such an offer.

But good luck to you if you do.

Personally wouldn't buy a Sharp TV. We sell them at work and they have in my mind a horrible picture, the quality is alright, its just the colour that seems to get on my nerves, doesn't seem all that natural.

Re: Stonking Deal or am i missing something?

looks like a crap deal to me.
for 37inch or higher you would want a plasma the lcd's are crap at that size aka the refresh rate a limitation of the technology

have a look at some panasonic plasmas
my parents got a decent 42inch plasma for around £500.

Well thats a load of misinformed bollocks if ever I ever heard any, I think you are basing that on fact from about 2 years ago. The new LCDs are FAR superior, especially the 100/200hz models, I would only buy a Pioneer plasma at 50 -60" and generally only if I was only watching standard defenition stuff, otherwise I would buy a Samsung LCD myself. The technology has come such a long way over the last 18 months and the contrasts are far better and the motion much better than they used to be....

As for the Sharp LED sets, the 600 is not good for the money, 50 hz, a poor picture.... what a waste time.

The 700 is slightly better only cus it has 100hz, but personally I will still buy a Samsung 750 or 650, none of the LED sets have impressed me that much yet...

The Toshiba ones with Resolution+ are not bad, but not good enough to justify the price yet I dont think.

    Hello,
my parents have brought a new model of panasonic plasma recently and in the shop they had lcd's which cost quite a bit more money and the refresh rate was rubbish. a decent lcd which is still slower than a plasma that costs less. the lcd's shimmered even the high end sony lcd's.
why pay more for something that isnt even as good as a cheaper plasma?
but if people want to waste there money well its there choice. im just trying to help people.
the above is based from what I have seen.

Oddly enough, Dell have some decent deals on TV's at the moment - I'm going to bang our account manager an email when I get into work tomorrow and see if I can get one of the LED Samsungs cheaper then £650
