Doesnt suprise me really as if the case would have gone the other way could have pushed some banks into real trouble. But still the banks screw us over again and get away with blind robbery!

Depends how much the 'morons' had in their accounts. I'll grant you that most of them *will* have been morons, but if by any chance they had more than 35K in their account they were merely being prudent, not moronic.

Yeah, I'd be interested to know what sort of percentage those with 35K+ in their NR accounts made up amongst the crowds. I'd say "very few".

The banks forget that the money they use to pay their HUGE bonus payouts is actually our money! They use our money, give us a crappy return, charge to take it out some cash machines and when we go overdrawn by a few pence charge us for that as well.

They are laughing at us in the process of getting rich of our backs, just like the government really.

We are slaves in this country and it shows. If I want a loan from the bank (i once wanted £100 for a day) they say no but if they want a loan of us they don't even need to ask, they are given billions!

Subject: A simple illustration

Once upon a time a man appeared in a village and announced to the villagers
that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were
many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The
man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers
stopped their effort.

He next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20 each. This renewed
the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again the supply
diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.

The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce
it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man then announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However,
since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy on
his behalf. In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers: 'Look
at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will
sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
them to him for $50 each.'

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys
for 700 billion dollars. They never saw the man or his assistant=again, only lots
and lots of monkeys! Now you have a better understanding of how the WALL
STREET BAILOUT PLAN WILL WORK !!!!

Yeah that’s a disappointing result as these banks have been ripping people off for years and they just get away with it. I remember years ago my granddad said he hid all his money in the house because he didn't trust banks and we all thought he was nuts but if he was alive today he would have been justified.

I do agree though that a lot of people made the whole NR affair much worse by queuing up outside the braches, but the media also played a major role in creating panic.
