It's Snowing

Up here in Scotland it has been snowing non stop for 3 days. I mean I've never actually seen so much snow fall for such a long period of time in my life. Roads are bloody terrible, so many cars getting stuck just getting into the street. At a glance, I'd say there's about 4- 5 inches of snow in my garden at least.

Still, it's fun going sledging and building snowmen .

And it happens every time. The prat even bought only two parsnips between 7 people last time we visited, 11 years ago.

Speaking of which, though, isn't it going to be dead cosy sitting by the fire, watching Christmas TV, sipping Calvados, Armagnac, The Bowmore 17 year-old, or whatever, while this mess is happening outside?

Assuming that my train is still cancelled (I hope) I will walk the dog up the Champs Elysees, and return to find the bird ready to come out of the oven and eat it with that warm glow you get from coming in from the very miserably cold to cosy, wood-fire scented warmth.

we also had a strange garden visitor from up north, not usually seen in this country, it must have got lost in the snow while out fishing and ended up in our garden

theres also a barn owl, rabbit and a plastic pigeon in the back garden - i'm saving those for other photo opportunities though. There was a leather-ish (might have been stuffed) 1 foot crocodile next to the front pond near the metal dinosaurs, but that got destroyed by the neighours cat.

the grizzly bear and penguin were made by my sister.
barn owl, rabbit and pigeon are the usual plastic garden ornaments you get from garden centers.
crocodile and dinosaurs were amongst some stuff my dad got from auction/house clearance.

It is nice taking a wander round the garden, up the lane and going for a little walk. Its so peaceful not a sound to be heard from anywhere, just the noise of snow compacting where you walk

Its been snowing here on and off since about 5/6pm, its still going atm and were up to just under 5 inches.
