Still sunny in Oxford, bloody freezing though.
My bike in this morning wasn't too bad (didn't wear shorts though - I'm *not* that much of a man ) - not much slide on the rear (almost certainly helped by the heavy panniers) but I did almost lose the front end twice under breaking coming to the end of non-gritted side roads, and progress was distinctly slower than normal!
You southern girls struggling with your push-bikes.
I took my Honda Shadow up to work in an inch or 2 of snow a couple of years back (it started snowing soon after I left). Managed a 240 degree spin at one point, but still didn't come off... managed to fall off at 60mph in the dry twice, but never on snow or ice... multiple close calls though.
We've just got a bit - maybe half an inch max. Nothing affected around here.

Yeah, its snowing up here now.
I was making the first tracks for about half of my journey home, slidy indeed. Enjoyable driving though!
I don't have an issue driving with snow on the ground, its the falling snow that I find tougher to deal with!

Taken this morning on the phone.
I had to de-snow this thing and *attempt* to move it up to the top of my lane and into the carpark to stop it being used as a buffer for everyone else attempted to get up said lane.
255 rears, a paddle clutch, and a diff. Well the results were fun
I work with loads of devs from Inida, most of them hadn't seen snow before today and there were about 30 of them running round in the car park today throwing snowballs at each other and taking pictures. Reminded me of when I was a kid and how excited I got by it.
These days I just think its a pain in the arse that is gonna make Q'ing to see Oakenfold tonight very cold.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
Had nigh on a foot here in West Kent (Tunbridge Wells to be precise). No work for me, no way in hell the car was getting out of our road, the snow was higher than the bumper, the car has over 200bhp and it all goes to the rear wheels.
Not only that but the main road (and big hill) at the end of our road wasn't gritted so no way out at all, saw some people trying but failing.
Walked into town instead, did the Christmas shopping and had a drink at the pub!
Will post some photos later or tomorrow.
It's been snowing hard for the last few hours here. Chaos ensues - roads are gridlocked. Should make for an interesting cycle home tonight!
here been?

southports been fun this past day or so - apparently.
there was 1 inch of snow yesterday, which melted, rain and slush last night which froze, then 1 inch snow ontop of that this morning.
theres been no gritters out - as a result all the major routes were blocked, sheet ice on bridges, jack knifed lorries blocking various places. to top it off though i couldnt make it into work today to test the mobility scooters out - for health and safety reasons you understand. i wanted to check whether they could've been driven through the snow and ice. not my fault it wouldve been lots of fun in the process
wonder if my paths unfrozen yet
picture from OTS from southportforums of the road round the corner from my house.
yes that is sheet ice
wonder what tomorrow will bring.
Ice issue here too. Trains were well buggered this morning.
Luckily I'm at home with the exhaust of the PC to keep my toes warm.
