Most significant moment of the 'Noughties' for you.

so, it's the end of a decade and i was on the BBC website and i found a collage of all things that made the 'Noughties' what they are.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8406898.stm

so i thought i'd start a thread on here and ask what the 1 most significant thing for you in this decade was.
it can be absolutely anything, the only rule is: it must've happened between 1st of January 2000 and well.. now.

so i'll get us started. the most significant thing for me this decade was my sister's birth on the 18th of August 2001.

Significant to me...birth of my son, you'll likely get a lot of responses like that

Significant to the world? Banking Crisis, it snuck in there late on but probably has more impact to more people than any other event i'd imagine.

For me this question is open right up to the wire, with a due date of January 1st who knows.... I could be in the same boat as you, if not... being made redundant 5 times will be! Which is far less fun.

    Except perhaps:
    9/11
    7/11
    Invasion of Afganistan, Iraq
The US electing a crackpot again

Luck? Why the pregnancy was planned the date was not. When my partner got scanned we found out she had been pregnant for 2 weeks more than we thought.. Either way I have believed from the moment we found out this child has wanted to exist. Makes for interesting new years resolutions though!

Forgot 9/11 but I guess it depends, 9/11 led to Afganistan & all that followed, because they elected that idiot again. Is it therefore one big thing?

To be honest they all boil down to corrupt idiots though

Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
