    Games for LAN + patches

    Hello all,

First, I hope tigs and the rest of the social lot don't mind me posting in here.

I thought it would be a good idea to get a list of games together that are going to be played at this LAN, other LANs or have already been played at LAN's and provide links to where to get the latest patches.

So I will add what I know/ think might be played at LAN and where I can, with links to downloads.

Games that people have bought via Steam such as TF2, CS:S, Borderlands etc, should all update automatically, so please make sure you run Steam before the LAN and get all the updates required.

    CoD4:

For CoD4, you only need the latest two patches, these are 1.6 and the 1.7 patch in order to play the game fully patched.

    Patch 1.6: - Here
    Patch 1.7: - Here

    Battlefield 2:

For Battlefield 2, you again only need the final two patches, the 1.4 patch and 1.5 patch.

    Patch 1.4: - Here
    Patch 1.5: - Here*

*Please note that this patch comes with the Armoed Fury and Euro Force Booster packs for FREE, how the patch is quite big, coming in at around 1.9Gb

    GRID

There are three patches for this game, all available from one place.

    Patches x 3: - Here

Alternatively, if you are not getting decent speeds from the above link, the the following usually gives decent speeds.

    Patch 1.1: - Here
    Patch 1.2: - Here
    Patch 1.3: - Here

    Command and Conquer Generals

As per Gerrards post below people play the Zero Hour add on with the following patch applied.

    Patch: - Here

(Thanks to Gerrard for the heads up on patch/ game version)

    Borderlands

    Patch 1.1: - Here
    Patch 1.2: - Here

    Race07

It seems like Steam will be best to use if you are getting this game, looks like it will save a lot of hassle.

However, here is a link, just incase you didnt buy the game on Steam.

    Patch: -Here

You will also need the Race07 mod that has been created for the LAN.

    Race07 mod: - Here

A walk through on how to install the mod can be found Here

    Company of Heroes

This game has a cast amount of patches, will try and get every patch I can listed!

Full patch list: - Here Some of these patches are quite big and there are a lot of them, so its best to start early to make sure you have them all. I personally wont be playing this game.

    Dawn of War 2

I cant seem to find any concrete patch lists/ downloads for this and having it on steam means I have never had to look for patches. If anyone knows of any links, then please let me know and I will add them.

    GTA 4

Added as per request from Matty.

    Patch 1.0.1.0: - Here
    Patch 1.0.2.0: - Here
    Patch 1.0.3.0: - Here
    Patch 1.0.4.0: - Here

(Thanks to Matty for patch list)

Right they are the only games I can think of at the moment, if anyone comes up with anything else that should be added, then let me know and I will add it.

I have two discs, one containing the following: -

    • Battlefield 2 Patches
    • Call of Duty 4 Patches
    • Warsow Installer (Just incase anyone fances a game)

    The other containing

    • All GRID patches
    • Both Borderlands Patches
    • Race07 Patch
    • BettysGreatBritishDrive

Both created one different days and I temporaryly misplaced the BF2 disc, hence two discs.

If you find any links that no longer work, please let me know and I will update the link. The GTA 4 patches are not on there own disc as they are a bit small to be adding to a disc on there own and I had already finalised the second disc. If more patches/ games are added to the above and they take up a decent amount of space on a disc, I will create a third disc.

Edit: - All GTA 4 patches added

Re: Games for LAN + patches

i'll load all of the patches on the hexus server before then so no one should really need to worry about patching. it should also have a steam backup on there so incase anyone needs to reinstall. i'll also install wsus for windows update incase anyone needs to at the lan. all this in the name of saving bandwidth

Cool just thought having one resource now would be good and hopefully remind some people to get stuff sorted.

Of course it's always a good idea toremind everyone but usually someone will forget to patch some thing so it's useful to have it kicking about just in case

Gameshadow is an excellent (and free) service if you're like me and can't be bothered with trying to keep up to date with all the patches out there...

It's a bit like having Steam, only without Steam

For Generals, it's currently at Zero Hour 104. Although ZH requires the original Generals, I don't think it matters which version the original is at.

or if you're like all the game developers who can't be arsed to develop a very simple way of getting patches, or in some cases, leaving the hosting to some VERY VERY **** servers so you get about 50kb/s at best for patches over 1GB. which is an utter joke.

Is it Generals or Zero Hour player at the LAN?
