I can't be bothered with getting intersted in or excited by this type of call.

I have a simple policy - I'm VERY selective about who gets my phone number. Essentially, it's a family, friends and a VERY small number of others. So, when a call comes in, about 98% of the time, they're in my phone book and the name comes up. If the phone rings and the name doesn't come up, it means you're not in my phonebook and therefore you have about 10 seconds to convince me not to hang up, and usually, I''ll recognise the voice if it's someone that should be calling.

I must admit that British Gas irked me recently. They called me, and then expected me to provide personal details to prove who I was before they'd tell me what it was about .... but of course, they expected me to take their word for it that it was British Gas and not just someone claiming to be. And the reason they gave .... they couldn't tell me what they wanted to talk to me about with me proving I was me because of the Data Protection Act! I have a simple solution to that - don't flaming well call me then.
