Why is there so many "Pro" players lately?

Has anyone else noticed that lately the number of hackers seemed to have gone up drastically? there few games now that are completely unplayable because off them?

COD4 is the main one, gave up on it after first few weeks off playing...

    now bf2 to?

i think the list is endless of how many games are unplayable...no?

What's wrong with Pr0 players? Nothing really unless you can't keep up lol

If you're referring to haxors then its a different story

MW2 is utterly ruined by them... And I can't think of one single reason why ANYONE would sit at their computer then watch a program do all the work for them, how is that in anyway fun? They just ruin the game for others, ruining my "relaxing time" by making it unplayable .

    5 kills and 28 deaths isn't fun.

BC2 is good though, played that a lot and not noticed any aimbotters, unless the aimbotters for that game are better or something..

No, not many hackers on BC2 at all. PB is doing a fantastic job (for once). There are moaners about "haxorz" than actual hackers.

Pretty much every game I play, I see atleast 5 PB annoucences that a player has been caught and banned.

MW2 is full of players making cheat accusations. I'm not certain there are quite as many cheaters as made out, but it's certainly annoying when you do find someone glitching/hacking.

Re: Why is there so many "Pro" players lately?

CoD4 isn't too badly hacked,m there are lots of clear servers...and though I'm old and slow, I think the majorioty of the people who kill me are just better than me !

CoD5 W@W is very tidy.... very clean. Maybe it doesn't attract the haxors... maybe it's just friendlier.

I used to think I was being haxored... thenm I got a bit better... and then I got my kill ratio up and realised I just needed to pick the right servers to suit me and what I wanted.

For example, some servers now actively encourage camping... and I love those. I like tracking down campers.

Some servers are strictly Admin'd and those are worthy of replaying over and over.

I last played CoD4 online about 2 weeks ago... took me 25 minutes to build up a head of speed and steam and then I was kill to death about 1:1 and I'm happy at that

I used to play at a very good level (Quakecon in Houston was the best for me), and although there are many hackers that spoil it, often its just people monaing becuase they just aren't good enough.

i think you're right mate.....while I've seen hsacking, I think it's rarer than people imagine.

Really good players, become supreme, after a 6 hour play session, but basic average players (like me) get on a roll sometimes... two days ago CoDW@W online I was on a 10 kill streak, no deaths in the first 4 minutes, but everyone on that server knows me, and they knew it would soon wear off... it did finished about 14kills to 128 deaths. But on an unnown server I'd have been called a H4><0R, no doubt

Re: Why is there so many "Pro" players lately?

I went back to my old clan server (BF2) a few times after I gave it all up, with a different account so nobody recognised my name, and nearly every time got accused of hacking by somebody.

People get so suspicious and angry, and just start hurling accusations all over the place. There were a couple of people in the clan that were really sore losers, and basically accused the other team of hacking after every single match... and it spread through everybody else really.

Usually there are only two ways to tell if someone is hacking, either PunkBuster bans the person or you spec them and it is obvious, spec'ing isn't full proof as there are people out there that are sound whores, they have the volume up stupidly loud so they can hear the slightest of sounds.

As an example, all be it from CoD4 we had someone on our server a while ago that we were pretty sure was dodgy, but didnt call him out on the server and anyone that accused him was told to get proof or shut up.

We ended up spectating him and it was clear, the clearest and most obvious time was someone had heavily smoked a section of the map, and from where this guy was there was no way he could have seen someone enter the smoke, he traced across the smoke then fired a small burst getting a headshot, we didnt call him on this due to the bug with some nvidia ards/ drives, but about 2 days later, was on the server (same IP and GUID) he got PB Banned .

Anyway..I kind of strayed off topic. Zak is right about the mass of hours thing. I used to play pretty much from getting home from college until about 11pm, a good four or five hours, after a good two hours once I had found my aim, I played immense. It got to the point where I was being accused of hacking in both matches and on public, so in the end gave up for a couple of months, now when I get accused, i take it as a compliment and just smile to myself knowing that I don't hack, in any way, shape or form.

Like Blitzen, I used to play at a pretty decent level. Played against some of the best teams out there (not dignitas and such) but others that were very good and werent far behind teams like Dignitas and such, but I soon got bored of the super competitive nature of the leagues and such we were in and went solo for a while, now in a clan where I have been put in charge of the CoD4 side of things and we just play for fun.

Re: Why is there so many "Pro" players lately?

thing is... I'm not much good, in real terms against most of the world... but if a certain server winds me up, I just leave!

CoD4 is just short of some Crouch Only, No Camping, Tactical Servers... those soon sort the (old) men from the (young faster) boys.

Re: Why is there so many "Pro" players lately?

I used to be extremely successful at an FPS on the PC a few years ago, and that game was absolutely destroyed by coders and cheaters, and it got so bad Punkbuster stopped supporting the game and as far as I am aware it is still getting hacked with no decent PB support.

Wallhacks, Aimbots, Natural Aimbots, Rifle Nade Bots, Mortar Bots, Sniping bots, everything you could think of, was available for a decent price, and you'd undetectable.

One of the main coding sites itself got hacked and every single person who purchased something from them got their details leaked, and that caught out a lot of the so called top players and people just lost interest, and basically every single server had a cheater on.

Cheaters are not hackers, Hackers are the coders who hack the game.

After the site leak, the coding community released a free undetectable aimbot and wallhack and that was the end of the pro community, ET is still played, but not like how it was back then i.e. big prize money, media attention.

IMO, Punkbuster was to blame, they were seriously lazy. And that game is, in my opinion, perfection regarding FPS hitboxes and coding, it was brilliant, then they released Quake Wars and Wolfenstein 2 which was so ****ing bad it ruined their name.

If they just ported it to the consoles for a small fee (it was free after all), man it would kick MW2's ass.

Now I play MW2, and I am quite happy with it, it's not perfect, but it's fun.

To the above comment on how to spot a cheater, someone who has fine tuned a natural aimbot and uses it in a clever way in UNDETECTABLE

even though CS:S is full of cheaters I still play it, nothing better than killing a cheater.

Its just a game and if they want to play it that way its up to them.

Once you play a game enough, you can spot them a mile off. How they act, move and snapping. But I think because BC2 is so popular, PunkBuster are right ontop of any cheaters for now.

Back in the days of ET:QW I was fairly good, and I was accused of hacking on a few occasions. But purely because I was killing non-stop and he/she needed to vent. I just take it as a compliment, and ignore them. Or rile them up, and say "yeah you caught me - oh noes!".
