Why is drinking more water making me thirsty?

Do you take any drugs? Various drugs can affect thirst and water balance, one being "e" where people can get thirsty enough to drink themselves to death (via the brainstem swelling).

I think there has only been one confirmed instance of that ever, and that was down to poor drugs education, rather than the ecstasy itself.

Regardless - surely the OP would have titled the thread "Why is taking loads of ecstasy making me thirsty?" if that were the problem!

More seriously, some painkillers (codeine) make me very thirsty, I find.

I usually find that when i drink cold water i tend to be more thirstier.

For some reason I read that as sinister. I get that with spirits.
