Do you like heat? Were you born in the summer?

I thought of something a bit strange the other day, and am not sure if this has ever been looked into or if I'm just way off the mark.

Basically, I dislike the heat. I really dislike the heat. Summer for me is horrible as I suffer a lot, can't sleep, get stressed at work etc. I also don't like hot water or drinks, I wash and shave with cold water and people think my showers are quite cool (where they feel hot to me).

But, I like cold weather and was born in December, a relatively cold time of the year. So, what I want to know is, does the time of year you were born affect your tolerance to heat/cold?

"You're barking mad..." there are four seasons so where are the options?

So far everyone dislikes the heat so your theory stands its just to selective. Perhaps it should be "geeks don't like the heat".

Re: Do you like heat? Were you born in the summer?

OK, I didn't want to create 2 poll options for each season, so maybe take it as summer means warm months and winter means cool/cold months.

So far, it looks like I am barking mad. Just that most people I know who love the heat were born in the summer time and me ant 2 others I know born in Dec hate the summer.

Heat gets on my nerves, but I would always take July over December.

I dislike heat and you are missing two seasons.

    (I'd take -10C over 30C)

Re: Do you like heat? Were you born in the summer?

Born on the last day of December and I hate the heat.

The trouble is we tend to get that miserable, overcast muggyish rubbish in our summers. If it were bright and breezy more often then that'd be better but hot weather makes me feel ill. I particularly hate it at night.

I've been in 45c overseas but the old cliche of the different type of heat applied there (though even the locals were whinging and the odd foreigner was expiring.) A mate of mine is a contractor in Saudi and a couple of years back he texted me saying it was just over 50c in the shade in Riyadh. Sod that!!

This. I was born on April the 4th, quite definitely in neither the summer nor the winter.

For the record though, I detest the heat. Up to low twenties are fine if it's not humid. Anything above that is rancid. 30 degrees and very humid is exceptionally rancid. Being stuck on an un-air-conditioned coach with 50 other 13 - 18 year olds all the way from Budapest to Calais via Prague (don't ask!) through that kind of weather... well, use your imagination

Re: Do you like heat? Were you born in the summer?

The thing about those super hot countries is that AC is more or less standard wherever you go. UK can hit 30C, yet you are just left to feel like an ice-cream left in the sun when it does.

I definitely can't stand 30C without AC (as is too uncommon in this country). Just makes me want to buy a huge bag of ice, fill my bathtub and lie in there.

Yup! Winter is fine, so is Summer. It's autumn and spring that are the problems, you never know if you should have put on more clothes or less.
