Well I was gonna link you to this... http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourc...inside+monitor
but the first link (excluding the video) brings you to this thread so..
Turn the monitor off and use canned air maybe?.. not sure how you'd get access to where they are though.
Whatever you do, don't kill it
I know not to kill them, little buggers...will have to get some compresssed air from somewhere double quick :-(
turn the monitor off and shine a bright lamp at the back of it to coax the bastards out
Cheers gonzo, was considering that, popped a torch by the top with some sellotape in front of it to catch the little darlings (monitor lying down of course) fingers crossed!
is this a CRT we are talking about?
if it was it wouldnt work as the vacuum would be gone
Where is the fly exactly then??
they usually get into the gap between the lcd and the lamp as its hollow space with a plastic prism to give even light over the panel, most are dust sealed but small gaps allow the little buggers in.
You could just sit back and enjoy your new screen saver
Yeah its an LCD, looks quite cool for 10 seconds then you realise what it might mean (dead fly on my screen forever!)
They've gone now, fingers crossed it stays that way...

just out of interest how did you manage it
Manage it? I left the monitor on its side all night with a torch pointing into the top vents with a bit of sellotape...
Didn't work though, my wife kindly called me to tell me they were still in there...thanks...cheered me up no end that call did!
blank off the screen so no light gets in there and stick the monitor on the window ledge, dont use it as the heat may kill them inside.
^Yes, what Gonzo said. We had a similar problem at work and they seemed to prefer natural light.
Send it back uner warranty complaing that its developing dead pixels which move, alot !
