    Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis

    just a heads up to the stargazers/nosy neighbours/night owls/street workers/milkman/posties/drunkards who have fallen over in the street face up/homeless amongst us..

    the northern lights will be visible tonight as far south as bristol. according to the metro. theres a bit on the BBC website too

    you'll need to be free of all light pollution to see the start. Often they come on incredibly softly, looking like little more than light bouncing of a high cloud.

    Galloway Forest Park is the place, only site in UK to be given Dark skies award, well last time I checked.

    all i saw were slightly greener loooking clouds, by the time we found a camera, the clouds had dispersed and that was that.

    I had a mooch around Pollaxe Towers late last night and didn't see anything at all. We're pretty rural and dark but there were some very subtle, greenish clouds the night before but I wasn't at all sure if they were the lights or something else. We had some noctilucent clouds some weeks back and they weren't too different from that..
