I don't know how to help recover your (your friends) account, but adding to what others have said above, you may trust him as a person, i.e. he may not intentionally backstab you... but do you know for sure that he won't fall for a phishing attack or input those login details onto a comprimised PC?
If you Steam account remembers your PayPal details like it remembers my debit card details and someone gets hold of the login details for the account, they can purchase all the games they like, providing you have funds of course...
That's a risk I would not like to make.

Why doesnt your friend just have/create his own steam account?!
Then he can do whatever he likes with it!

But, yeah the obvious thing would be for him to get his own account and save you the hassle.

urg, i will just let him move it over to his email and keep it, i didnt intend on keeping the account it was purposly made for him to play left 4 dead with me, i got it on that steam deal when it was about £7 i did anouther for anouther friend, im not sure how steam would see this as a problem when i have my own personal account i keep for myself (which i of course havent passed me details onto)
Also for the record i ve not clicked the option asking if you would like steam to remember my payment/address details, so again i covered myself XD ive had my own account hijacked and they couldnt get any details luckily! although i was very scared about it...

You can send games to friends as 'gifts' so you don't break any of the Steam T+C's. Next time just get them to make there own accounts, and if your feeling generous, just gift them over the game.

I have a problem with my steam account also my old email is now closed and i cannot for the life of me remember the password. I've tried doing everything to recover my account but can't due to it emailing my details to a dead email. I went to steam to ask for help and on the steam logon it clearly says "please only create a new steam account if you DO NOT already have one.
So i would be carefull saying you had 2 accounts when their t&c's state you are only allowed 1.
