All phones are locked by networks except O2 I think, I know Orange, Voda and TMobile vigourously lock their phones whether they be on pay as you go or contract.

    * Vodafone only lock your handset if its MMS and Vodafone Live Equipped.

Nope, neither of my parent's mobiles are mms/live enabled, both on vodafone, both locked.

I've had phones from both T-Mobile and Orange, and every single one has been locked, and a couple of my mates are on O2, and those are locked as well..

Weird. I was with voda for 2 years and never had a locked phone (though only 1 was live enabled) and now with O2 and on my 2nd handset with them and neither of those were locked either

Jersey Telecoms dont lock their phones...so I'm assuming that Cable and wrieless in guernsey dont either.
If not try wave telecoms or whatevre they have called it...thats from JT so that'll be unlocked.

Most contract phones are unlocked. Ive only had an experience with 2 o2 contract phones and both of those were unlocked. I might have a 7650 for sale soon if you are interested. Fully unlocked

Most contract phone are not unlocked, as of January the Vodafone store told me all MMS/Live handsets are locked.

Orange have always been locked, hence why they have now increased the charge to unlock it to a massive 35 quid (non official unlocking can harm the phone according to the phone manufacturers.) O2 I can only go on hearsay, thier shop did not know ffs

T-Mobile, I have bought 7 different model handsets and all have been locked.
