All phones are locked by networks except O2 I think, I know Orange, Voda and TMobile vigourously lock their phones whether they be on pay as you go or contract.Originally Posted by malfunction

Nope, neither of my parent's mobiles are mms/live enabled, both on vodafone, both locked.Originally Posted by m@ttz

Yeh channel islands must all be the same then. *shrugs*
Most contract phones are unlocked. Ive only had an experience with 2 o2 contract phones and both of those were unlocked. I might have a 7650 for sale soon if you are interested. Fully unlocked
Most contract phone are not unlocked, as of January the Vodafone store told me all MMS/Live handsets are locked.
Orange have always been locked, hence why they have now increased the charge to unlock it to a massive 35 quid (non official unlocking can harm the phone according to the phone manufacturers.) O2 I can only go on hearsay, thier shop did not know ffs
T-Mobile, I have bought 7 different model handsets and all have been locked.
