Damn, others got in there first with the tl;dr comments!

I'm amazed by this post, whilst I respect their opinions (...not really ) I read your posts when I have the time & its on a relevent subject...if I dont have the time I scroll past it (or use the scroll bar if I dont want to use the scroll wheel) and leave it for others to read & digest.

You've helped me several times with legal issues (with respective disclaimers) & it has helped me no end. No change required!

Re: Do I go or do I stay? Your choice.

Frankly it sounds like you want to go anyway. I fail to see how this exercise is going to help you for more than a couple of weeks. People come, people go, the majority of people will not see this thread, and there will always be someone who pisses you off.

But, the ability to ignore people on this forum works both ways. If people find you annoying they *should* just ignore your posts. Equally, you can just put them on your ignore list as soon as they piss you off.

What's the big deal? Man the **** up, I say. It's not like you have to suffer these people. I'm sure I've even been one of them in the past. But, over time, I've learnt to like your "scenic-route" style of writing, and if I can't be bothered to read it then I just skip past it. I've obviously matured as a person over the last couple of years

Oh, and obviously, feel free to ignore me (permanently). It's not like I'll ever even know, and I certainly don't care.

Re: Do I go or do I stay? Your choice.

Ignoring request to refrain to comment like those above me - I think you make a huge contribution to these forums and it would be a terrible shame if you left, particularly in response to a few complaints about your style.

You just have to look at the number of "thanks" you have been given to gauge how much you are a valued member of these forums.

That said, if you feel you're not getting what you want out of posting any more and you don't like posting here - well fair enough if you want to leave.

The simple solution to those that don't want to read your long posts... IS TO SIMPLY NOT READ THEM! (nobody is FORCING you to read them!!)

Much like nobody is forcing you to read "The Sun" or whatever other example of rubbish tabloid paper you don't want to read... (Although a more appropriate example might be the Financial Times...)

Tell the NAYSAYERS to STFU. It's not up to them how long or what should be in YOUR posts.

Guys - I am disappointed that this is coming down to this point. Yes we know everyone has opinions, but if you don't like something, skip over it! It's not difficult, and NO we don't always need your opinions.

I'm sure you've mastered the art of the SCROLL and SKIM. We don't need to know how much anguish this causes your scrolling finger.

Re: Do I go or do I stay? Your choice.

As others said, very easy poll. Clearly your choice but imo you should stay.

Your posts are always well constructed and provide normally a good indepth view to the subject, yes they can be long but i must say its more interesting reading something that you write than some like this:

"LOLZ the governmentz is stupid increasing university fees!"

Id prefer a longer comment than just a few words, although sometimes both is in order!. Also to who ever doesnt like Saracens posts, man the flip up please because no ones forced you to read it.

    Its A FLIPPING COMMUNITY.

The same applies to the opinions though doesn't it?

I'm worried that it'd be hypocritical to tell people to ignore posts that they don't agree with, if you're not also telling people to ignore posts about the posts they don't agree with. Tolerance should go both ways, if no rules are being broken.

Then why are there 2 pages of generally positive comments? You’re a moderator after all. I’m guessing locking the thread removes the ability to vote?

Wanted to say a lot more but let’s leave it at that.

    Voted stay.

I won't comment on my vote as you aren't interested in it, but I think it is a good opportunity to point out that Hexus do have a 'block' feature. It is not perfect because you still know when the person has posted, but it serve as a reminder of one's intention (don't reply if you choose to read).

However, the option is really well hidden. There is a direct link here http://forums.hexus.net/faq.php?faq=...ublesome_users but no matter how hard I look, I can't find "User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List" (*nudge webmasters*).

I dont think its all of that kalniel, i think the main thing is that some people dislike the way Saracen posts i.e long and detailed replies (mostly). The difference of opinion is fine but people should just respond to that with their counter argument or what ever but they shouldnt be complaining that his post is to long to read, if thats the case then why have they read it!.

Re: Do I go or do I stay? Your choice.

If people can't be bothered to respect your own point of view, how you word it or phrase it why should you worry about theirs and what they think of your posts? I read a thread because I am interested in the subject and peoples views on it. This entails me reading all the posts (even the silly ones which make for nice breaks in reading stuff!) because I want to get an understanding of whats going on.

But here is my vote of confidence for you Sir Saracen. Your posts are the most constructed well thought out posts there are. Yeah its long, but I see your thought processes behind and you explain your reasons why a heck of a lot better than others on this forum and a darn sight better than my own. As that is such, I respect what you write, no matter how long.

You keep doing what you feel is right, do not let a few others bully you. If people don't like what you write, tough. Their problem. They shouldn't write on an open forum and expect people to agree with them all the time.

Re: Do I go or do I stay? Your choice.

Your posts do seem overly complicated and long winded for no reason, as a result I don't read most of them. Yes we all like a nicely constructed post, but no one likes waffle. Keep it short, simple and to the point.
