Had to walk 11km (6.7 miles) home yesterday. No busses at all. To make matters worse I now miss 2 days of school as the roads are too icey
So frustrating. Is it just Scotland that was affected by the latest round of snow?

Why so sad? I thought everyone loved being off school, unless your a teacher I guess.
It took me 8 hours to get to Hamilton via the X1 bus service and motorway, walked the last hour. It took my colleague 13 hours driving from city centre to Larkhall, madness!
Because I'm at an important point in my school life so I don't want to miss two days, and more importantly I'm a sad git who has nothing to do at home and enjoys school! It's the equivalent of missing a weekend I guess
Its the same here in many parts of Northern Ireland

I just missed my electronics lecture... flipping bus came 1 hour late, just walked away from it because by the time it took me to uni i would have had to come home! Thankfully my mate got in on a different bus and told me what was taught, stuff i knew for once .
But still, pees me off when they dont arrive especially since down south its not THAT bad fine at the minute and i had 3 buses go past on the opposite side of the road and they are the same network (citybus) lol.
I suppose I did get to read the GTX470 review earlier than I would have been able to...

Yesterday, I ended up having to run home due to Bus/Train being cancelled and managed to do 4.7 miles in 40 mins. Then went ski-ing up the golf course at mines lol was some laugh.
Had to get in today though, I had promised various folk that they would receive their pay before Xmas, and I wanted to stick to that promise and had to walk into work.
I've alway put my work first before anything else.
I did 6.7 miles in 2 hours which is more than 3 mph in a foot of snow for the first 2 miles and slippy for the rest, was impressed with myself
Well done. A psychologist who works round the corner from me and lives in Glasgow took over 24 hours to get home! She got stuck overnight on the M8.

At its worst here, my normal 20 minute journey to work took me 1 hour. I used only back roads, but the A11 has roadworks at the moment which has shifted the traffic around a bit and forced me to take a lisghtly slower route than I would have normally taken. Going home hasn't taken more than 40 minutes yet. (Even a few years ago when it was taking friends of mine between 3 and 6 hours to cross Norwich)
My eldest has been praying for snow so that his school would shut. Its a little un-fair though. His shuts at the first sign of snow, the junior school (where his brother goes) shuts when the snow gets bad, and he infants school (where their sister goes) doesnt seem to ever shut. I feel really mean when Holly has to go to school but the boys get to stay home!
To those that are really struggling with the snow, I hope you thaw out soon. For me, I hope it snows some more.
In sunny tropical southport, we had about an inch of snow over a week ago, it melted by lunch time. thats it, no more snow, just been cold at around -5C.
life has gone on pretty much as normal, just the odd car skidding about on ice, nothing that spectacular.
my normal 15 minute walking journey to town, took 14 minutes, because i didnt have to wait for cars before crossing the road - because there wernt as many cars.
