I drive past a town called "Biggar" on the way to Edinburgh.

I wonder of they have a big pothole in the main road ?

They could call it Biggar's hole

Glasgow is pretty terrible for it... especially if you're a cyclist

    Re: potholes... Potholes.... POTHOLES.....

We don't call them potholes round here .... we call them mineshafts. Not that they're big, or anything.

Still, it does make driving fun .... swerving around all over the place to avoid the gaping chasms, while playing dodgems with all the other drivers that are doing the same thing. It certainly keeps you awake.

Exaggerate? Wot, innocent likkle 'ol' me? Surely not.

Okay, I did. But not by much.

Agreed, annoyed by potholes - especially as a cyclist, they're lethal if you don't concentrate!

    Re: potholes... Potholes.... POTHOLES.....

same here, around where i live there are loads of potholes,
some one even put a traffic cone into a particulary bad one, and its been 4 days since i noticed it, and its still not fixed

also at our local shop, there is a loose slab, at the top of some steps, on the footpath near it.
the shop owner reported it 2 weeks ago, and its still not fixed,
i know this because my missus nearly fell today, because of it.
needless to say this resulted in a long rant down the phone to central beds. council.
i wonder how long it will stay unfixed

also iirc. i heard it is supposed to be cheaper to resurface the road properly every 10 or so years, then to just patch up the same holes every year.
but long term thinking is not known to councils
