Night out in Sheffield, where to go?

I'm seeing the Arctic Monkeys on Saturday (the 11th) but the last train back to Manchester is 22:15 and i suspect we won't be at the train station for then.

So, where is good for three students who don't want to end up in any 'rough' clubs and within relative ease of commuting back to the train station for the 3:45 train and quite possibly drunk?

Depends on what you're looking for, but the Leadmill is spitting distance of the station, and if you're going to see Arctic Monkeys they probably have something that takes your fancy on. Sonic Boom is the clubnight on Saturdays, open til 3. Not sure what there will be to kill the next 45 mins though...

    Yup, t'Leadmill

Always choc-full of students, if you've had a good night, it might take you 45 minutes to stumble over to the station anyway

Re: Night out in Sheffield, where to go?

Here's a few suggestions for you:

    1) Sheffield Tap - right at the train station is a fantastic new bar (on the right as you walk out with the road in front of you). Lots of beers to sample.

    2) The Showroom - an independent cinema soing indie/foreign films, and a trendy bar where all the creative types hang out with their MacBooks.

    3) The Leadmill - student club nights galore. Just up the street (near the showroom) is SB's (a curry restaurant where many a club goer go and have a sit down meal at 2.30am )

    4) Howard - typical indie / alt pub

    5) The globe - student indie pub

    6) The red lion - traditional pub, popular with young city workers

    7) Haha bar - upper market bar, very nice interiors, still friendly

    8) The Museum - decent pub with 1 or 2 other pubs/bars nearby

    9) Leopold Square - recently refurbished area with upmarket bars and a good selection of quality restaurants

    10) West street / Division street - Lined with bar and clubs (red lines) loads of bars and clubs around here and the linking roads.

    11) If you head west along devision street (follow the red line leading from the train station) Then turn left when you see the grass on the left and head down the side of the grass field (there's a dead end road to walk down) you'll get to the Devonshire Cat (marked Devonshire courtyard on the map) this is a real ale pub, always with loads of fancy beers. Probably a 10-15 minute walk from the train station at most.

    12) Henry's Bar - a great wine bar on the corner with full glass windows. Rustic interior and an open feel. Really nice place.

Anywhere between henrys, the green unlabelled patch (top right of haha bar), and leopold square and you wont go too far wrong as that's the main centre centre area. Also the area north of henry's has a Lloyds, and a few other big bars, like Weathspoons etc.

    Most Recommended places:
Henry's Bar / Haha Bar / Sheffield Tap / Devonshire Cat - but it depends what you're after

Completely off-topic - Have they re-named the Adsetts Centre? It's labelled The Tesoll Centre on the map?

Re: Night out in Sheffield, where to go?

Providing you keep to the city centre, the station is within 45 mins stumbling distance.

    The best part is...

    It's downhill!
