Yeah I really agree I hope it's going to get well when they're gonna play against Italy too! .

Of the 'big' teams I've seen so far, none have looked all that great. Italy looked predictable, Spain weren't exactly on fire, Portugal were very poor, and really, only France and England looked dangerous with quality players on form (the last .2 of a second of the match apart)

So, if Holland don't look too clever when they play, its still wide open, despite our nightmare start.

Ok hexus football nuts - i have one question.

At the start of the game the teams line up in and orderly fashion to respect the national athem of the other team, and of their own nation. Why do the fans have such a problem keeping their big fat mouths such?

It makes no sense, can they not just stfu for a few minutes?

Can anyone shed light on this? as it really pisses me off.

I'll admit it annoys me too - wasn't very impressed when there was whistling during the French national anthem from England fans.

It just seems to be one of those things. Uncultured mob the lot o 'ye English

    Angry

I thought England were poor really , look at the last 35 minutes of the match, they all gathered in the box and played 'keep away' with the French, no effort or even a pretense of effort at moving forward and trying to play football they just sat back and cleared the ball. Pretty pathetic for a supposedly world class team. Beckham I thought was fine, he took the penalty ok but sometimes penalties are saved, it had good pace and an angle on it so Barthez IMO did well.

You cant excuse the fact tho that we were yet 'again' trying to 'hang on' to our small lead and hope the french didnt come up with anything, (which they did) but you would have to be diabolical not to get a few breaks after 30 minuites of 'keep away'.

As for substitutes I agree totally why take off anyone? If Rooney gets booked then ok he'll have to learn the hard way but really who or what thought that t**t Heskey would do anything good?? Hes alwasy been rubbish.

Owen was just closed down constantly ,he could ,like Rooney ,make some breaks but then weve always known he couldnt hes a point and fire player always has been.

Gerrard tho no excuse - what was that pass?? French shirts around him he was under pressure and he passes back to James - What a cop out of responsibility - utter rubbish. As a defender he left his kepper out in the open with little choice a 'schoolboy' error and I think he has far too much faith placed in him for what was a terrible error of the worst kind.

the depressing thing is England were by far the better team and they still manage to stuff it up - quite believable really after all these years.

    LATEST FRANCE NEWS!!!

"It's alleged that one of the French football players has failed a drugs and alcohol test after the match. If this is confirmed as positive, under World Football Federation rules, paragraph 6 sub section 2e, France will forfeit the first group match 3-0."
