I do like Gmail, but whats this about?

I'm receiving other people's emails in my inbox. Genuine emails, but this other person's email address is just one or 2 dots different to mine. So i'm getting Sirius XM emails that I have nothing to do with and even office emails.

So what's scarier is....does this happen to everyone? And where the heck could my emails be going??

If you're talking about full stops, i.e. marcos[at]gmail.com or mar.cos[at]gmail.com, then there's absolutely no difference.

Gmail ignores dots, so m.a.r.c.o.s[at]gmail.com is just as valid as marcos[at]gmail.com

Check the headers of the emails, are they being forwarded to you?

Strictly, gmail ignores dots before the @ sign. Dots afterwards important!

I'm getting emails directed to marcos.xxxxxx and marco.x.xxxxx when I am marcosxxxxxx. But they look legit, none of the emails seem spammy or junk.

Do you think its just people handing out the wrong email to people, e.g. marcos.xxxxxx@gmail.com when really it is hotmail they use?

Re: I do like Gmail, but whats this about?

Header looks fine, I'd say the sender has the wrong address.
