n00b ebay question - advise needed

Well,

I rung Paypal and they basically said that if the funds were transferd to my account, then I am likely to be ok, and really have no choice now to give him the phone. So im just going ahead with it , and god have mercy on his soul if it turns out fraudulant.

just tell him the truth say shipping is X amount and that he will have to bid on the item and win it to know the final price tell him he must pay through ebay checkout to purchase the item and if you dont post abroad then tell him just that.

You're quite within your rights to send it to him, you say nothing about having a personal collection.
You also hae 3 days once you recieve paymnet to process it before posting.
Also didn't he say he was in Singapore(or did I miss that?).
Also did paypal save you'd be covered if he personally collected it?
If he does turn up I'd ask to see some ID? Maybe even photograph and fingerprint him....

i jst gave him the fone, printed out some receipts that he signed, whether that means anything. If i dont get the dosh i'll just track him down and take some beefy friends round.
