Unfortunately in these situations the messed around customer usually doesn't have a leg to stand on, Unless they made a contractual agreement when you placed the order with them, and they broke the terms of that contract, (which you can then prove) then you've got them.

Well, if the reciept says that fitting in included, then Dave has a right to expect tjhat fitting to be within a reasonable time I would have thought. Still, my advice to you Dave would be to phone them and tell them you don't want the hob/oven any more and get them to take it away again. That way you've still had a load of your time wasted, but they've spent hundreds of pounds on engineers for no reason.

As Rave said, if it included fitting you should have a case to reject the whole contract. LINK HERE (It's a hideous site, but this bit of info looks relevant)
