I don't hate "trendies" i don't hate anyone based on they're appearance or anything as shallow as that.

I'm a musician. I think they can be compared easily. Both bands have been going for ages, started as rock bands, and I like to compare how their music progressed.
Fine, if you wanna do that then do it, but from the look of the last few pages of this thread you and chris have not been doing that, you've been slagging off metallica for things that have nothing to do with they're progression.

what does napster have to do with they're progression as musicians? or mtv icon for that matter?

i've read it before, thats not the first time i've looked at your sig you know, shocking as that may sound.

And i didn't change what i said, i think you'll find that both your quote and mine are in my posts. and whenever i refer to "those burberry cap wearing idiots" i only refer as i've said already, to the ones that i know are idiots.

do you me want to judge you?

Now do you want to compare the bands as you said, or do you want to pick apart my posts some more, im quite happy to sit here all day and do either, but doing the latter will do nothing but get your thread deleted.

It wasn't a musical progression for metallica though was it, for new bands that need to get people listening to they're stuff its a progression, but for a well known band its not really gonna help them as much.

I would like to present you all with my veiw.

Metallica havent made any progress in music. If anything they are devolving. Radiohead are pushing boundries. Even if you dont like them you have to be able to see what they are doing for the music industry.

EMI are a majorly major record label, releasing the things radiohead have produced, which im sure no other major label would have done. Alot of radioheads past 3 albums may have been confined to white labels and warprecords releases, but due to radioheads vision, and EMI acceptance of something that is not 'the norm' it is paving the way for many other record companys to let their artists have the freedom to express themselves fully through their music, not just concentrate on units sold.

Blurs new album for example. Much more experimental than everything else they have done, and IMO its their best work. New releases from Mogwai and sigur ros are amazing also. Anyone heard the new album by the mars volta ? Its fantastic. And things like these wouldnt be being released if it wasnt for radiohead standing up to EMI and telling them what happens next.

For this reason and this reason alone, Radiohead are lightyears infront of metallica in terms of importance in the music industry. Metallica sued napster and tried to drag the industry backwards, kicking and screaming.

    This is just funny

do you me want to judge you?
ego-manical jackass who won't accept that he could be wrong
    My turn:
Generic greebo who believes that him and his selection of buddies wearing MASS PRODUCED alternative clothes are different, unique, and not at all like the 1000's of other special people who are just like you, people like you should have your opinion revoked, as it's built on generic(ism) and self depreciating bullrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish.

And i didn't change what i said, i think you'll find that both your quote and mine are in my posts. and whenever i refer to "those burberry cap wearing idiots" i only refer as i've said already, to the ones that i know are idiots.
You'll find Mr Memory king, that your FIRST post said:
Its childish and its what those burberry cap wearing idiots do all day long. "
And when I pointed out the irony in that quote you made a new one, which stated:

I didn't call them Burberry cap wearing idiots because of they're taste in music, I called them Burberry cap wearing idiots because the people I see that wear Burberry caps ARE idiots that enjoy shouthing stuff like "greebo" across the street at me because of how i look and what i listen too.
    That's a complete 180-degree turn.

It wasn't a musical progression for metallica though was it, for new bands that need to get people listening to they're stuff its a progression, but for a well known band its not really gonna help them as much.
    Wrong again.
    Radiohead are a well-known band.
Kid A was released in USA and Uk at the same time. With no tour, no promotion and no advertisement.
It was leaked on Napster a month prior to release.
It went to Number 1 both sides of the Atlantic, the first British band to do that since the Beatles. So yes. It can help well known bands, Metallica have forgotten where they came from and turned into corporate rock whores...

How's it feel to be proved wrong by an "ego-manical jackass who won't accept that he could be wrong"?

right, lets see.........what mass produced alternative clothes am i wearing today. some john banks carpenter jeans, a red "basic sport" t-shirt, a leather belt from bhs some dc shoes and a silver chain around my neck. I'm not a little kid who lives his entire life buying clothes that everyone else has from a shop in birmingham in an attempt to be different.

I should have my opnion revoked? why because its not the same as yours. i tried to defend a band that i liked from the slagging off it was getting from you and i get a personal attack in return for it.

and as for my friends they wear what they wear, i don't control what they buy but they don't fit the stereotype you've just written there either.

have you actually met me? no, so don't try and pass yourt judgement on me based on the words i write here, truth of the matter is you no nothing. next time you want to attack me and my friends for what we wear do or listen to come and do it to my face.

wrong again jackass, yet again you jump to conclusions, i never said in that first post that ALL people that wear burberry are idiots i was talking about the ones i know, i didn't state it as i felt you might have been intelligent enough to understand what i meant without an explanation.

What do you want? A Medal, hero?

HERE WE GO AGAIN MR HYPOCRYTE, THICK MORON, WHO CAN'T REMEMBER HIS POSTS...

    You said this:
do you me want to judge you?
ego-manical jackass who won't accept that he could be wrong
And then, when I retorted you replied with...
have you actually met me? no, so don't try and pass yourt judgement on me based on the words i write here
    DUH.

    Also, this made me laugh...
next time you want to attack me and my friends for what we wear do or listen to come and do it to my face.
I hope you weren’t implying that I'd be scared of you. Because I find that VERY amusing...bear in mind, you, as you put it, ATTACKED me first, I ****ing dare you to come and say I'm a
"ego-manical jackass" to my face, kid.

I never said in that first post that ALL people that wear burberry are idiots
In what part of this sentence did you mention the words, "that I know"

Its childish and its what those burberry cap wearing idiots do all day long
    are idiots
You didn't. Don't expect intelligent people to read a sentence and start presuming things....
That's your job, Mr Presumption, hypocrite king of stupidity.

    Ps

If you can't see sarcasm in this paragraph, as it was posted directly after your "judgement" of me, you need to go back to school. (That's if you've finished, and judging by your spelling, and general grammar, you haven't)

Yeah we have, but we'll see if you do come and say it to my face, it's a hell of a lot easier to type than to say.
I didn't get kicked out of college, I left because my band got a deal, I was on the brink of being thrown out, and had a college "court case" but they lost, due to having unreasoned, unbacked up arguments.......

    Did you help them prepare?

    LOL!!!!
ON A SCALE OF ONE TO THICK
    You're off the bloody meter!

Once again, you started this particular branch of this argument....with this//

next time you want to attack me and my friends for what we wear do or listen to come and do it to my face.

    then comes out with this:

i'm not gonna back out of because he thinks i should be scared of him.
Mate get a lesson in coherency.

You judged, then complained at being judged.
You attempted intimidation, then complained at intimidation.

    Lol.
