Salsa, cha-cha, foxtrot, waltz, rumba, merengue, swing, line, country, slow.
It's been said that women love to dance, and they just wish their men would get up and go for it.
Is it true?

Well, not speaking for the whole of woman-kind, obviously, but yes I love to dance!!
However, I wish I could do even one of the dances you have listed, instead I can party my pants off to pretty much anything, especially after a few alcoholic beverages!
I think that deep down we all wish that we were Baby in Dirty Dancing or Sandy in Grease, be able to dance fantastically and one day meet our Johnny/Danny and sway off into the sunset!!
If you're not living on the edge, you take up too much room
yes! i'd love to do ballroom/latin american dancing, but the boy isnt up for it
I used to do a lot of contemporary dance at school, its very good for toning and flexibility.
As for the ballroom types/dirty dancing I'd love to learn some of that for when I eventually get married. I want to do a funky first dance.
I dont think I'd want to drag my man for learning if he didnt want to though, I certainly wouldnt want to learn how a car works if he wanted me to(is that a good example? )
There's a thin person in every fat person.....that's because they just ate them.
Ooh! That would be a bit harsh.
Try and drag him though, a lot of guys love it when they get past their pre-conceived notions and embarrasment. Depending on the guy, try to find a low-ego-threat zone! Somewhere where he wont care what people think. A dance place with old people, (no-one to compare himself to), or perhaps if he did see others really enjoy themselves, and you too, then he'd lose his inhibition and get into it.
I love it, and love the confidence that I can step onto virtually any dance floor and be able to at least come up with some kind of dance, rather than the maggot-wiggling nonsense that used to occur. Rather than feel self-conscious and not leave my seat, or feel like a prat by the end of the evening, I now enjoy every chance I get to dance (weddings, going out, whatever), and at times impress people rather than embarass myself.
EDIT:
Oh and if you're ever in Tucson, Arizona, look me up, I'm always up to go dancing.

dancing rocks, i don't do professional lessons, but i do love to waltz randomly in train stations/shopping centres etc - it's most fun! Sadly my bf doesn't *do* dancing unless he's got a pair of glowsticks in his hand...or he's slightly intoxicated - n even then its more of a two step.
God damnit I love to dance! *nods*
i like dancing but i don't dance, what so ever. oops...
btw i being a ditz and not signing on on my own username its sweuzo

I'd love to do something like learn to Dance with that special person if I had one. I love doing new things and dancing would be something new. Just need to find the right person.
I'm sure however that not all women like to dance. Just another sweeping generalisation for you...

I hate dancing, mainly because i cant dance without looking like someones glued my feet to the floor I've decided becoming a DJ is much better cause then you get to make people dance and all you have to do is nod your head in time with the beat
Ben
I love dancing . . . it's a form of expression . . . so I say baws to all that foot forward, foot back, take your partner by the hand crap and just do it - so what if you look like an eejit
Girls who can keep up with a 150+bpm without looking like they're trying to manage free falling tetris blocks are alright in my books
I love to dance, and I don't care if my partner does or not
You might be right, but so far I don't think I've met any who don't like it. Some are a little scared at first, butt hey still want to and when they do, they've enjoyed it. But that's just my personal experience. Seems most of the ladies here like dancing too.Originally Posted by TiG
Oh if only the blokes would take notice, bite down on their egos, and try this one for their ladies - it might turn out they enjoy it.
