What do I *do* for a living? Drink coffee and browse the internet, mostly
As to what I'm supposed to do for a living ... well, I've been filling in some financial forms recently and the "current job" question is a pain for me. My actual job title is excessively long (and very distinctive, so there's no way I'm typing the full thing out in a public forum ), and bears little-to-no relationship to what I actually do, which is schmooze up to NHS practitioners and managers and try to persuade them to use research software in their day-to-day jobs. I will also train & support people who do use the software, but that's currently no-one (I've not been doing the job long!) so that's kind of a side job. I'm also meant to do research and write papers, but that doesn't fit in very well with the day-to-day stuff, so it's on the back-burner a little.
I'm Spartacus
Actually I'm an "IT consultant" though in reality that means I'm working for a large IT company being body shopped into their customers and I only work with a single product in a single sector. I've been doing it way too long now but I just can't seem to make myself leave.
