    RMA Nightmare Why Me? UPDATE!!!!

Apologies first off cos it's a long post.!!
I'm having an absoloute nightmare with a RMA.I bought a item (won't say what it isin case i get wrong etc..) off some other forums I had it for a couple of weeks before it died.I have a copy of the reciept so got in contact with the online shop which it was bought from.10 mins later had my rma number. This was on the 3rd september.Sent the item back with a letter requesting the replacement be sent to my address. On monday 6th sept I recieved an email confirming they had recieved my rma.I hadn't heard anything more from them so last friday 17 sept I emailed them and I got a reply saying sorry for the delay and they would look in to it.1 hour later I got a email saying my replacement item had been posted out and they gave me a tracking code.To my horror they hadnt sent the item to my address but to the card holders address i.e. the person I bought the (woops) item off.No problems there he agreed to send it on and I could pay for the postage by cheque or whatever, but the card still has not been delivered. You may think this blokes nabbed it and is telling me he hasnt recieved it.I was a bit worried about that but I have phoned Royal Mail on 3 occasions and each time they have said that a parcel with that tracking number has not entered the postal system. It definately has not been posted.I know I havent been ripped off the guy I bought the item off.The shop is saying the item was posted out.Royal Mail is saying it has never entered the postal system. What do I do?I'm stuck in the middle and feel as if I'm going to lose out on an £300 item. It'd got me thinking about buying expensive items second hand now.To make things worse I'm going away with my wife and kids for our first ever holiday together on monday with this hanging over me.Why does things like this always seem to happen to me.
Walks off to drown his sorrows..

    That sux mate

Has it been lost between the company sending it out and the original receipt holder receiving the goods or between the receipt holder sending you the goods?

It sounds to me like royal mail might be messed it up

I would try to get the company which sent out the goods to contact royal mail as either they have given you an incorrent number or Royal mail are lying :S

Anyway i hope you get things sorted it sux

Try not to worry about it on holiday and have a good one!

Ring the shop and get them to confirm the parcel number, get them to scan in their part of the reciept that they would have from royal mail.

How was it sent? SD, recorded etc?

Yee Haaa Thanks m8 we had a great holiday but had no reply to my emails about the RMA.So yesterday i sent a few nastyish emails to the company and I got this reply

    Dear Sir,

In response to your 3 emails I have attempted to track this with RoyalMail
and they do not appear to know where this is so I have initiated a claim
against them and we can ship out your graphics card. Unfortunately we are
currently out of stock. Would you prefer to choose an alternative?

so now I've asked for a Leadtek A400TDH 6800 GT instead of the x800 pro.It should be here tuesday morning.I'm well happy.!!!!!! Roll on tuesday.
Oh No !!!!! I'll have to change my sig AGAIN now

NNNNOOOO !!!!!!!! Just got this email this morning
Unfortunately we no not have stock of the following products you returned:
    Leadtek WinFast A400TDH GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail

We can offer an alternative of similar (current) price from our catalogue or if you would prefer (and we still sell your product) we could wait until fresh stock arrives from our suppliers. Please advise how you would like us to proceed.

I am gutted. 4 weeks I've been waiting for a replacement card and I get this in my face today. So I've opted for a Galaxy Glacier 6800GT this time.Just in case this goes out of stock what other brands of 6800 GT's would you recomend me ? lol
