CC London to rise to £8?

Faster taxis? You mean the ones using bus lanes as a taxi rank, forcing the buses to have to try to pull out around them? Or rather sit there waiting, since the other taxi drivers would never let a bus pull out. The buses would be faster if the taxis were banned from all bus lanes.

As someone who has lived in London for all but 4 of my 25 years, I can't complain. I have never once paid the congestion charge. On the two or three occasions that I attempted to drive through London before it was introduced, I was left wishing that I'd taken the long route around the M25, so I've lost nothing.

OTOH, the increases in train and bus fares since 4/1 this year really annoy me. The service I get on the trains is atrocious. New Labour have done sod all to improve the service during their 7 years in power

I pay the best part of £2,000 a year for my rail season ticket. £8 a day to pollute the centre of London seems quite fair.
