Meh. I'm in two minds. Black looks nicer but attracts a damn sight more dust. Silver is nice but looks a bit "tacky" on a lot of equipment.

It's half an half in my cabinet. Receiver, VCR and subwoofer power amp are black. DVD, Freeview and HTPC are silver

Black all the way. It Can look a bit 80's sometimes but Silver, unless uber high quality, often looks 'cheap' to me. Harder to match different brands kit with silver and they often look slightly different shades. Black always seem to match as a rule.

It's weird, I used to have an all black entertainment area and slowly stuff have been bought and sold and it's now silver.

Bar my beige monitors my workstation is pretty much all black. Should have a nice black Dell monitor soon-ish though.

Funny thing all this silver electrical equipment, wonder who started that trend?

Anyways I have always preffered Black despite it showing up the dust 2 min's after wiping it and all my pc stuff is black which is quite fashionable these days but everything else is silver inc tv, dvd etc apart from my 1997 Arcam Hi Fi setup

Yer Bring Back Black or at least give us a choice from the tedium of Silver

Remember when silver was really big in the 80s? Then it phased out and black became popular. Now we're coming back to silver (doh!). We'll shift back to black again.

Black all the way, especially for smaller devices like phones/cameras/mp3 players.

Ugh, no more black for me, it does indeed fit the era of permed hair-dos, neon socks and suit jackets with the sleeves rolled up.

Smacks too much of that "black ash" furniture from Argos.

Silver (brushed metal) with soft blue backlight is a fantastic combination.

Black and silver go in cycles, although silver is now on its way out with most new designs in Black again (latest shuttles, Sammy D500 etc.) I'm sure silver will fade back in one day.

    Personally I do prefer black.

Give me brushed aluminium any day over dodgy tacky black. Silver can look tacky as hell, specially if its faux pas silver (read: the look most of those brat boxes have)
