i much prefered the golf people going through the different stages of the golf. i think they could or should have done that with this dancing in the rain one.

How can ANYONE detest the song? It's an all time classic! The original is shot with just THREE cuts iirc, Gene Kelly was suffering with stomach problems on during the shoot but didi the entire sequence in one take!
btw, a little bit of film trivia for you. They found that they couldn't see the rain on camera, so they mixed milk with it to make it show up... apparently EVERYONE on the set that day STANK for days afterwards... and Gene Kelly could be smelt upwind from two miles away...
What a crap advert IMHO. Lol. I kinda see the point, it's just.... Naff.
Can't see what you mean about CGI with the quality of those donwloaded videos though.
Like others I much prefer the other Golf advert where the car, surroundings and people evolve.

Useless ad
The time shifting one was excellent
Great car though
Terrible just isnt a word that holds enough water to describe how bad that advert is...
Is the car so bad that an advert for it tells you nothing about the car but just shows you it for about 4 seconds at the end...
Oh yes I am sooo likely to buy a car due to some dude hopping and flipping his way around in the rain..
Look at the car it is, Golf GTi, look at there choice of music, look at the dancer guy..
This cars aimed at people that have heard of singing in the rain and think that hip music and funky dance moves will make them young again...
This car and advert are aimed at people that are having a midlife crisis...
I found it amusing, but i think it will get annoying with repetition.
Did like the timeshifting one - gives one hope that there may still be job security somewhere
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
I thought it was a superbly put together advert, with an underlying meaning that suits the advert.
To be fair if you didnt get it the first time you are retarded.
If you think the advert is not good by todays standards please feel free to think of some better adverts, you will be hard pushed to do so. And no, the Calgon advert does not count, whatever your pretext.

Anyone who likes the music and wants it, it was a white label remix by Mint Royale, they have done a number of white labels nothing is every released though, the remix goes under the same name as the original so look out for Mint Royale - Singing in the Rain.
The advert was OK but I don't agree with destroying a Gene Kelly classic for a few body poppers and VW to sell their car :/ I am suprised the family gave the permission.
As for the golf gti, once upon a time it was a little sporty number no bigger than the clio v6 now its bigger than a focus 0.o horrid cars, even worse up close.

it doesn't make you want to buy the car, but its a good advert
Well its ok, not as good ad the citroen advert, doesn't compare to the honda cog, but much better than that stupid vosprung dutch technik advert where the car explodes and the pieces spell out "vosprung dutch technik". I just wanta punch people when that advert comes on
