Re: Dec 2020 Reader Review time :) - need some volunteers please!

If you need another volunteer then I am up for trying it out.

I built a custom loop based on EK parts 14 months ago and whilst its all working fine...it desperately needs a drain, full clean out and fluid replacement. I was considering taking on a hard tubing project when I did so too, which is why I keep putting this off. Oh and the fact I forgot to put in the drain valve so yeah, draining this will be a PITA

But I have always been dead against AIO coolers, particularly the ASTek rebrands that I keep seeing, so I would be very curious to compare this against my custom loop, do some before/after temperature checks etc.

    Currently running

9900k (stock or 5ghz all core depending on my noise tolerance!) & a 3090 (which is air cooled)
EK 280mm rad, D5 pump, Supremacy Evo block...nothing too fancy
Bequiet Dark Base Pro case, so plenty of room for a 360 I think

No worries if you have enough volunteers etc tho, will just encourage me to finally get around to rebuilding this thing properly

no wonder these things whine so much if that's the size of the impeller/propeller blades they use.

    Hey Zak ol' buddy,

When you get a need to test :-

    - Aston Martin, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, etc,
    - P&O World Cruises,
    - 3 star (oh, hell, I'll even slum it in 2 star) Michelin restaurants,
    - 5 or 6 star hotels,
    - Patek Philippe (or similar) watches,
    - luxury stays on desert island exclusive resorts,
    - handmade Italian Merino wool suits,
    - high end Canon photo gear
    - anything not mentioned but in similar vein ....

    .... hi there.

PS. No, not holding my breath. But just sayin', in case, y'know ....

PPS. Long-term tests not a problem.

Add me to the list of backups Zakky, happy to help if you need; I'm nowhere near as active on forums these days though, I lurk in the shadows (Also, "hi" )

Caveat - I only have a stock Wraith cooler to compare against, having decommissioned my custom loop years ago.
Running a 3700x in a Corsair 800D and the turbo seems to throttle quite early (silicon lottery or temps?).

Hm, nearly 40cm long and the max space inside the box is around 300mm.
So are you interested in outside of the box thinking / testing?
Like ik9000, I wouldn't have a permanent use for this. Obviously running this i5 IB machine until it breaks, but when that eventually happens my plan is to get a smaller case.

    Ah, chimney?

/Visions of Santa Zak sitting on ar... erm, rear end in snow on roof, looking at utterly chimney-less modern house, and saying "Bu .... bother". Probably peering through argon-filled double-glazing, looking at the plate of mince pies, and snifter of Napoleon brandy, sitting in front of the radiator.

Can Santa get in through a gas pipe?

I guess if I find a butt-print in the snow on the roof and untouched brandy, the answer is no.
