however there is the possibility that if its a very low turnout (which has been rumoured as people are fed up hearing about politics) then that will favour the conservatives and IF a number of things go very right, they could get in my a slender majority.
but labour will most likely stay.
No one else has owned up to voting labour except nicomach...
Thats as people who vote labour can't afford computers....

I just dont understand the none-voters. Ok so they might not like any of the parties standing, but there MUST be one thats a lesser evil.
If your not voting then you obviously dont favour the party currently in power, so why not vote to get rid and give someone else a chance?
Not voting just admits defeat, says that you dont care about our country or your own lives ;/

They will get in tho, and I think most people know that, conservative, however good they may seem have mucked this country up before in the past and older people won't let them do it again. With the liberals ? Well they stand a chance maybe too, if people vote, most people think theres no chance of them getting in so just abstain, saves them 5 minutes of their time on a vote that they think will be worthless.
How am I going to vote? I duno yet, I'll consider it, I reckon Labour will be in for a shock tho, if they dont go out, I guarantee them losing a lot of seats to Conservative and Libs

I voted Lim Dem, but I don't know if I will on the day. Probably conservative as I want rid of Labour and just can't get my head around Charles Kennedy as PM.
I just can't vote for a government who took us into an illegal war when there was millions of people marching the streets around the UK in protest - if they don't listen to that they should go. They work for US, but it's going the other way more and more. I also don't want to go further into Europe and what they did to the fox hunters (pro or anti hunting) was a lame publisity badly handled stunt.
I don't want any of them really, I guess it's a case of the lesser of two evils
I might not even vote at all.
Kennedy is a bumbling fool.
Tony Blair in my view is an OK guy but I don't like Labour
Howard is a Bit Iffy but the Conservatives are a much better party.
Not voting is like being another version of a scally....

Who gets into power will affect your life, and that of those around you. It is OUR responsibility as british people to decide who runs the country, when ppl dont vote it just undermines the whole system...maybe you would prefer a dictatorship instead where you wouldnt have to vote?
Need your help especially to get rid of labour from stafford
[ps not a personal attack on you, just asking for an explanation ]
^what he said
For some people a vote is a luxury, I don't think it should be neglected lightly.
ps this is a personal attack on you, in the interest of society
Our forefathers faught and lost thier lives to ensure this right and democratic freedom was protected. I would too if such evil threatened us again. But freedom is the key here. Freedom of choice, and the choice to vote or abstain. You can register a non-vote on the voting slip if you want. I think it an absurd notion that we have to vote for someone even if you don't like them. Not wanting to vote just for the sake of it and choose the lesser of two evils is fine it's for the right reasons. Some may even argue it's better not too, I don't really know.Originally Posted by Spud1
Like I said, I would fight for your right to vote, whatever your choice of party was. But the number of people not voting tells a tale and is a choice you can make, a vote, in itself. My gradfather faught in the second world war with honor and good old British pride, but he did not always vote.
Ok, this maybe a little extreme, but I like analogies ... If two masked men stood on your doorstep, one with a small knife and one with a Uzi 9mm. Who would you invite in?
Exactly.
What's important is that we have the right to vote. Not voting for the sake of it. I have the right to march down a London street and protest about the price kippers, but for some reason I don't feel like it. Freedom of choice. Making someone vote is not demoratic last time i checked. Where is the logic in saying that someone who does not like and want to choose between parties which they dislike all of would prefer a dictatorship? Absurd. Back down to earth please!

But if you were told that you one of them was coming no matter what, then you'd probably choose the bloke with the small knife.Originally Posted by dangerous_dom
I haven't read enough about any of the parties to make a decent decision (not that I can vote anyway!), but the leaders' images are absolutely crucial. In my opinion, Tony Blair seems untrustworthy, Michael Howard seems... well, like Michael Howard (and slightly creepy), and Charles Kennedy seems like a decent bloke, just not somebody you'd depend upon in a crisis.
I wonder how different it would be if we were told that Tony Blair was standing down, and Gordon Brown would be the Prime Minister if Labour won the election.

In my eyes, the entire politics system needs urgent reform. A group of people in a room, shouting their point of view to each other with each party responding with a “oohhhhh” “ehhhhhhh” “ahhhhhhhh” every time a point of view that they agree with is given ? Oh please , It reminds me of kids in a playground.
Totally agree that it undermines the system, but from my personal point of view, it doesn’t bother me as I don’t believe in a lot of the current system.Originally Posted by Spud1

Just to make a point clear, which I have failed to mention at the moment. I do go the polling station and vote, but I put a “white” paper in. Basically I put the paper back blank, as I don’t believe in any of the current parties (as well as the system).Originally Posted by Tifosi
