Now there's a good idea. I was thinking of voting for Conservatives to get Labour out as most ither parties just won't stand a chance, plus I also agree with your other points about there being no party worthy of a vote IMO.

A fair point, I did not realy think too long about that analogy to be fair. Bit crap actually now I think about it. Not really what I was trying to get accross.

But I stand by the rest of my post. I acept people may disagree, but freedom of thought is another such right.

By voting "for the sake of it" you are giving that party a mandate to carry out the policies outlined in their manifesto. Seems stupid voting for something that you disagree with to become policy just because one party is "not as bad as the other one" doesn't it?

However if you only have a small gripe with one party and major problems with the others, I see no reason not to vote

Having said that, I don't think I'm even registered to vote where I will be come election time, so my input is meaningless!

Yep, as i said earlier in the thread, thats what I have done up till now. Much better than just not going and taking part.

Yep, thats exactly what I was getting at too. The "you must vote!" crowd fail to get this for some reason.

Reasoned points there Agent, fair enough

At least you go to register your none vote, thats not as bad.

By not voting I mainly critisise those who just stay in bed and cba to even go to the polling station...

Btw another side note, its Rock nite at the union tonite , well worth a visit if you havnt already been on a sat nite, i'll be there 11-closing (short guy in a mars volta hoodie ;p)

If i could vote it would probly be for the lib dems. As all the other partys seem to be totaly useless in cornwall. Also they dont plan to empose Extortinate uni fees. Unlike labour, and the tories who will privitise everything, increase unemployment, lower wages, privitse everything and leave this country in ruins. Its time for a conservitive goverment in this social climate, but this conservitive goverment are frankly crap.

Lib Dems will never get in so theres no real point in voting for them
    - Look at the facts, we are no longer dealing with a two-party situation, much to the desimay of the torys

    I voted: "Other"
because i wouldnt personally vote for any of the main parties.
    lets look at the facts.
Tony Blair - No one actually likes him, do you?
Micheal Howard - a.k.a the deamon head master (enough said)
Charles Kenedy - The scotts man with an alcohol problem, ooooh cliché
and Killroy just look at his partys full of fascits.

so other seems a good option to me

    Veritas! hah what a joke.

Nice one Kilroy. Great idea to set up a party called Veritas.

To the people the that know it means 'truth' in Latin and understand what irony is, its laughable, and to the rest of the UK population it sounds like an STD.

    Kilroy is a plank tbh...

how can any body honestly vote conservative...

tony blair is a **** but, after what the conservatives did to this country.

one thing that really made me laugh, was a poster i saw for the Tories..

"how hard can it be to keep a hospital clean? are you thinking what were thinking"

er... correct me if im wrong.. which bright idea party sold off the cleaning contracts for the NHS for a bit more money so that the private companies could pay crap cleaners crap wages?...

    British Steel? sold it...
Prison Staff? sold to private sector..

    Poll Tax... conservative idea.. WHY?

To keep the rich rich and the poor poor.

People have been saying there voting tories.. nobody has said why apart from "blair is a (naughty word)".

There less unemployed in Britain now then EVER before.. and there more people now than EVER before. People who havent got a job.. are people who do not want one, or are medically unfit to work. Labour HAS dropped a few clangers... but remember when labour came in by a LANDSLIDE vote? was that because we loved tories? didnt think so.. so anybody got any reason for voting tories?

if tories get in power... people will loose jobs.

anyone care to explain there vote?
