*bump* Apex, you got anything useful?
Also, i've been referred to many people now and still no luck. At the moment it looks like i have to find a job on my lonesome. I think i'm going to contact some Canadian universities and ask them if they can help me find a job somehow. Is wedge not back online yet?
Also have a look at visa requirements. I don't know about Canada but I am part way throguh sorting a student Visa to the US. I won't be working or getting paid, but I still need to go to the embassy for an interview ($100), pay for SEVIS registration ($100) and pay for TSA backgroud checks ($130) all in all an expensive process before I've even left the country!
OK the US is hyper atm, and Canada should be much easier, but its worth checking!
Why not? If you got the chance to travel anywhere you wanted where would you go? I've just never been there and plus, my parents are moving there in a few years timeOriginally Posted by Allen
Yeh, i'm not sure who to go to about that, i've contacted another person about it but he hasn't replied yet. Who did you go through to get all that information?Originally Posted by TeePee
Sorry, I wasn't querying your choice, I was just interested.Originally Posted by KeZZeR
If I had a choice? I dunno really. Probably Australia as I could see my sister then!
Canada's lovely though, my parents have been quite a few times (I haven't ) and they said they would emigrate there if they could!
Most of the information came from the school I will be attending in the US. The TSA check is specific to the training I am doing, but the general information is on the us embassy website. As I recall the Canadian embassy website also has a lot of good information about their procedures. I doubt you will have to go for an interview, you can probably get a canadian visa by post.
Well i'm going to have to go for an interview for a job anyway but i just need some contact e-mail addresses / numbers in order to contact people about jobs. I'll probably contact a uni in vancouver or toronto to see if they can get me a job. It's a longshot, i'm sure i'll get a job there, it's just doing it is the hard part!
Gah, just spoke to the head dude and he said that i have to find my own job over there and it's not a good idea to do an exchange program with a Canadian uni as i then have to pay fees towards them as well. I might just phone a Canadian uni and see if they can hook me up with any spare jobs going or phone a careers service over there and see if they can find me anything
I have not got a job sorted out yet for when we move but my wife has a job as a nurse so thats good. I am more than likely going to end up selling again unless I can pass a CCNA exam,( that involves learning).
