    Zombie Dogs

    http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117...-13762,00.html

SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation for humans.
US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.

Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.

The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity.

But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock.

Plans to test the technique on humans should be realised within a year, according to the Safar Centre.

I wish them luck finding volunteers!

I reckon they did these experiments after getting drunk and watching Universal Soldier.

Possible side-effects are Lundgren's disease, or in more serious cases, Vandammeitis.

Amazing that they say it does not cause brain damage.

I think its going too far. When I die - I want to stay that way.

With a title mentioning Zombies I had to have a look, this is quite cool, although when I pop my clogs I would rather stay dead instead of waking up in the future to still find the same old crap as I did when I died A zombie dog would be the mutts though (pardon the pun) walking round with that thing you either live a trouble free life, the dog could turn on you and eat you or the RSPCA will do you for cruelty to animals, thats if the dog doesn't eat em

Its gonna look more like the suspended animation from "chronicles of riddick" I hope this replaces cryogenics which is a stupid idea in my opinion. This has actually been tested on something larger than bacteria, and works

But just wait won't half of peoples brain cells be dead after like 3 hours? They die very quickly after getting no oxygen surely?

Also i dont think they need volunteers, they just run around hospitals nicking bodies

Hmm i am rather sceptical about this...

    Ian

... Just read article and i cannot see how no brain damage would be caused, but they are the scientists

There are prob people out there that will try this, that NEED to know if there is an afterlife or not & being able to report on it after... then this brings up more things, think of the backlash if someone went though with this, was DEAD for 3+ hours or even days and then comes back saying 'unlucky everyone, there is no afterlife!' or even 'there is an after life - god is real!' even if he didnt see anything but said he (or she) did... woah this could turn nasty
