Grrrr. As long as indie isn't the sole thing you listen to, it is great.

Scenesters are annoying me at the moment... particularly as they love singing along to "Hey Scenesters"... oh the irony. I am worried by the 'pop-ness' of current indie stuff.

Yea same here (80-90% of my music collection is Rock, Prog, Post Rock etc, but I still listen to a bit of Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada from time to time)

Friends invited me to see the bravery but in the end I decided not to because as far as I'm concerned they're an updated version of the Backstreet Boys.

I'm convinced that some record companies just work out what formula of 'Indie' (lol) is most likely to rake in the most cash, before flicking through pictures of male models and offering a place in the band to the best looking people they can find. They seem to worry about writing them songs and teaching them a couple of power-chords later- as long as they've bagged a decent image then they're almost guarranteed all the money they want..

No, they're a ripoff of New Order... have you heard 'Honest Mistake'? It sounds almost the same as Blue Monday in parts. Ironically I quite like that song. There's still some good to be found in indie, but a lot of it's mainstream now... that's not necessarily bad, but that does mean you get some crap out there.
