    Savings

    Hi

Can anyone recommend a good savings account where i can invest £40 - £50 a month with good interest. Don't mind if it has to be a regular monthly account. Don't want a risk account though. Looking on the net at the mo. Lots to sift through!

These are the best internet savings accounts at the moment that i'm aware of. I've got the Northern rock product and have used it for years. Very slick service and well happy with them.

    AA Internet Savings 2 5.11% 5.11% £1 None
Northern Rock Tracker Online 4.65% 5.01% £1 None
Yorkshire BS Internet Saver 5.0% 5.0% £1 Instant
    Halifax Web Saver 4.9% 4.9% £1 Non

    Halifax regular saver @ 7%

    HSBC regular saver @ 8%

Unfortunately the HSBC one has lots of catches like you need a current account with them too. The halifax one looks good though.

Looked at those. Thing is they are short term, 1 year only plus other catches!

Im thinking of using the halifax one with relatively few cathces then just moving thwe money into whatever the equivalent deal is in a years time. Depends if you can be bothered to make a new account once a year for probably only ~£10 extra interest.

The e-savings account looks good at firstdirect. Have to look into that a bit more.
