My younger brother still uses it. Kids find it simple.
kazaa make me sick, they make money out of all kind of nastys and not just copyright infringment.
besides, p2p, bit-torrent, are all horrible.

Finally they do it. Took 'em a while.
i thought it had already been done!
I thought bit-torrent was the best download client ever invented. Didn't Valve employ the inventer of bit-torrent and use its' tech to download updates from Steam?
right avalanche is a much much much much much better design than bit-torrent.
but p2p isn't good. Why?
Lets say you've got 2mbit, but you've still got 1/4meg up?
Lets say you've got 8mbit, 1/2meg up?!
24mbit.... you get where i'm going?
Now also p2p puts more of a load on packet routing. Pakcet routing by nature is redundant, but just fesiabilities in the real world, means using one route is cheaper to make infrastructure, and better performance.
as such technologies such as usenet are far better for distrabuting them big debian every package ISOs of dvds.
www.usenetserver.com is an example of a prover if you don't have news.yourisp.tld or nntp.myisp.tld
www.newzin.com index it, but i'm always weary of hte nature of some of things on that site.
