Petrol Lupos are good on the fuel economy too , but their fuel tank is so ruddy small you end up filling up as often as anyone else anyway :S
Not sure what you mean here, can you explain? I have a 98 Escort 1.6iLX that I get 25-30 mpg out of. That's on 5-6 miles to work mind, from next week I'll be doing 15+ miles to Warwick Uni for my PGCE, and driving like a granny. I'm seriously thinking about a Smart next year.Originally Posted by Konan555

My dCi Clio 80 gets 57mpg on my normal run to work. This week i have been driving carefully, not going over 60, coasting down hills etc. and have got it up to 63mpg. I'm a little dissapointed to be honest i thought i would be getting nearer 70!
True, but i put it down to age...and its stock parts through out...so for 23 years theres a few things that could be tweaked for some extra milage. For one, a new fans going in today - variable pitch, but hey - its a mini...the fact it got 50 miles without stopping is joy and rapture in itself

Driving it less and staying in 'grandad mode' to save fuel.
