Seing as every other forum has been bunched up and has many subforums, why not put all the Hexus.care in a bunch in their own forum... then you'll reduce scrolling even more so, it would make sense as there all .care forums and are related to help in a way, and seing as every other forum now seems to have 2 or 3 sub forums in it and them, and hardware having something stupid like 8, it wouldnt look out of place.

    Or is that not allowed?

Also [anal] general discussion and news need capital letters [/anal]

I thought it looked out of place, and unprofessional if you can make a high flying site and then have grammatical errors, if its on purpose of course, thats your choice

Nice change, as others have mentioned already I just had thoughts about the capalisation of certain words, and the general hardware forums being listed at the bottom. But reading through seems to have cleared/gave me a better idea of why, and basically its not up for discussion which is cool.

But as they say, 'humans' hate change.. But it's just something I guess I'll adapt to.

    Nice,

Guys, I am not going to go into the details of this.....but let me explain a few things....

The time taken to evaluate and tweak this stuff before you even see it has been over a month, and many many edits and tests on beta code to see how it looks.

The lower case lettering, may look unprofessional to some of you and it may look like a gramatical error, but it is done with intent. What we want is want stuff to stand out and we want to encourage a diversity between the HEXUS derived information and the community information... something further to this is we don't want to copy anyone else, HEXUS is different because we do our own thing. We have our own ideas, and we do them how we think best.

There is no point making itty bitty changes, we do the whole thing and we do it in a way that makes us different. And you know what, we must get alot right, as there's lots of attempts at what HEXUS does, Its just, well, Not HEXUS.

We value your input and we know what you are saying, but there is method behind some madness and there is more than a bit of thought in the quirky stuff. We are listening, and if we feel that we got it wrong we will hold our hands up and say so, but for something this specific, the lower case is not in the radar for being changed.

    Matt.

    It is a gramatical error.

Is the forum going to gain anything from this though? Are people going to come across the forum and think "oooh, gramatical errors, this is a bit different!" Or are they going to think it looks messy and unprofessional and move on?
Why is it that all the help forums are at the top? And why the change in names of forums?
TBH I really don't agree with the "let's be different" idea. There's a reason why 99% of media is similar, and that is that it's the most appealing to the consumer, and the most likely to thrive. Thing progress naturally, and I don't think forcing change, or trying to stand out will work.
I appreciate the time and effort that obviously went in, and I'm sorry that it doesn't appeal to a large number of people, but I didn't see any threads from Mods saying "We're thinking of tweaking the forums, any suggestions on what we can improve?" (I apologise if it was entered as a thread, I have been away for 2 weeks, but I can't see one...) Prehaps some more input from the end user would have been beneficial.

    Thanks for reading

    I don't know, do you?

Because they can be? Or is it because they are a valuable addition to the site that requires companies to have a large deal of trust for us as a brand and as a community. Or is it because they help keep the HEXUS site afloat? It can be any of those three reasons, but then your comments are based purely on your opinions. We are looking at the broad spectrum here and the majority of people like what we have done.

Because they were named as we went along, this is the first complete rebuild of the forum structure since the forum problems of years ago, HEXUS is alot bigger now and whilst many like the old forums because they were used to them its a fact that there is a 33% quicker load time on the forums, something thats becoming more important to many and lets face it, 33 forums on an index is overkill unless you have a membership base of at least 50,000.

You are entitled to your opinion, but the staff of HEXUS are allowed theirs, and the concensus on the change has been positive from many, but as with all things, some won't like change, but some hated the old forum so we cannot please everyone.

You must be looking at a different feedback thread, I think you should check who has picked holes in it compared to those that like the change but accept it will take time to get used to.

In an ideal world, yes we would do that, but people commenting on 33 forums and how we can improve them would have been at best chaotic. There are many reasons for the changes that have taken place that go far beyond what you are taking into account. the site itself, the people who control the purse strings, the people who leave because it was too confusing to the people who are downright scared to enter into conversation here, we have to try to appeal everyone and whilst there maybe disappointed people we cannot please everyone with one solution, but we will do our best to adjust and work on it should there be a need to develop it further.

Cheers Matt, don't want to come across too negative (I'm just as glad as anyone else that Hexus is here for us to use) and I won't be jumping ship, but I just wanted to raise some points!
    Thanks

I'm quite shocked at the hostility towards those who feel it needs minor tweaking.
