Congrats on passing your test .

But remember that now you are just starting out learning to drive, yes you have the basics of driving but you will learn something every time you are out driving, I have been driving years but still learning.

It annoys me when someone says "I am a fully experienced driver" but believe me there is no such person.

So Elmo just go out there and enjoy your driving

i plan to. I'm under no illusion that i'm experienced at all, yes i've passed my test but now is when the real learning starts I'm just glad to have the freedom to just decide to go out and not have to wait in the freezing cold for buses that dont turn up!

Haha yeah same... Perhaps even less! I rarely haev to park on high streets or anywhere where it's necessary.. And if I do, I'll just think "Sod it I can't be arsed" and drive a bit further and look for a bigger space

My Polo could squeeze into spaces barely inches longer than the car, my Golf takes a bit of getting use to. My Dad A4 is actually quite easy to parrallel park considdering it's size. My mums Cassic Mini is hopeless though, no power steering! who would have thought such a small car would be so heavy!

When I was visiting Washington, D.C. last Spring, I saw some lady try to parallel park in a space that I could not have layed down in. Seriously, she kept trying, holding up a ton of heavy traffic typical of the nation's capital. I just stood there and watched, foregoing a walk sign because I had never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.

EDIT: Can a mod kindly delete the double post. I was having a little trouble with the forums at the time.

Congrats Elmo. Follow my example, wait a few years before you back onto a towbar in a car park and your insurance will at least be manageable

P.S. your good news means I can get myself a custom avatar never thought 500 posts would take this long.
