Well there is a ythick covering of black smoke on the edge of london/Essex. Its was probably an accident, considering that just one spark can set it off.

c'mon eye witnesses, wheres these pics? your not shining
this is gonna turn into a looong thread
I personally won't be taking pictures - I think the memory will be more than enough. It did look strange earlier though - the smoke was so thick and black it looked like ink blotting out the sky.Originally Posted by UKMuFFiN

Good little vid from a CCTV cam incase you havent seen it
Here
memories all well and good for those of you who can see it, cant see anything over here
Didn't hear it being in Central London, but Canary Wharf is no longer visible from my window - news said it would be cloaked in smoke and it is.
I don't know if you guys heard but people in France and Holland heard it. (Oops, no pun intended)
There's an eery atmosphere outside... Not normal clouds. And you can smell it in the air, ever so slightly

Got some RAW's processed - nothing too fantastic as the police line was quite insistant...
Plus, a few pics from one of the evac areas (the local cinema/leisure complex!)... loads of Sally Army, loads of police, loads of camera crews, and lots of very shocked people...

not saying it will be good for you or anything, but the smoke will be a damn site better than if it had been a chemical works, crude refinery, plastics factory or rubber (especially tyres) factory.
Have they found out what caused the explosion yet?
I wouldn't expect anything official until the fire is actually out.
I just nipped outside to take some night shots - not much point.. lol - The cloud is much bigger, and it's so thick, I can't even see the horizon over there, let alone the flames.. just an eerie glow..
Uploaded a few more pics from earlier, tho, to the site: HERE
I wonder how pants the traffic's gonna be tommorow? Grrr...
