I've won about 30 of them, get one everyday at school lol. Just never sent off for one. They are the most common prize - I've never not won one .
If it's still alive, soak a peat pellet with water until it fills out.
Wash your hands and clean a razor blade with alcohol. Cut the bottom of the stem at a diagonal angle (leaving a point at one side). With the blade, shave off about 1cm of the bottom of the stem around the cut you made. Aim to just remove the outer surface, without cutting into the phloem.
If you have a rooting gel or powder, dip away, if not - just place it into the peat pellet.
Place the pellet/cutting into two white plastic cups, one on top of the other and sprayed on the inside with water.
Place it in a sunny window and lightly mist it daily. If the peat pellet gets dry and hard, place it in an egg cup of water, let soak, and put back in it's cup.
Your cutting will wilt a bit, maybe turn a little yellow. Just try not to over mist, or let it get too dry. If a peat pellet completely dries out, chances are your cutting is a dead 'un.
When roots start to come through the netting of the pellet, fill a small pot (7cm square job, perhaps) with cutting/seedling soil and plenty of perlite (50:50 ratio). Pot onwards in a slightly larger pot each time when your pots show roots coming through the bottom. When your plant is a decent size, or the pot is too big for your window or something, sort yer garden out and plant in some good soil.
G'luck :>
