    Thanks for the advice guys. The small 'insertion' cut where the glass went in has healed, but I still get the pain when I stand on it. I don't have any puss.

    I can only presume that the doctors etc won't be able to do anything? I mighttry and take a layer of the skin off and get it out that way (with the TCP as suggested. )

    If you miss the exam due to a medical reason, they will allow for it, either by using your marks from other exams & coursework to calculate your grade, or by letting you retake the exam. (My wife organises exams at a university, and has to deal with stuff like this all the time).

    I suggest you phone your school and ask for the exam secretary (usualy a teacher) and tell them what happend. In the meantime you should get medical advice.
