aged 16, and really over-abusing a friend's generosity by sending a large number of messages to my recently acquired girlfriend with his phone - hence getting my own

replaced the db4000 with the following within a couple of months, as breathing near it was enough to break it - and it had a horrible habit of trying to write 65536 text messages rather than 10 to the SIM

I got my first phone when I was 16 years old about 3 months after pay as you go phones first came out. The thing was TINY (like quarter the size of the motorola brick phones of the time) and was so easy to use. I've had a phone since then so that's over 6 years.

I was 16 and PAYG had only just been introduced. It was a massive Philips brick that took credit card-sized SIMs and was on Cellnet. I remember Vodafone used to charge a monthly fee on PAYG back then!

I kept the phone for about 2 years before getting a much nicer Nokia 8210 on Orange. There my love affair with phones began.

EDIT: It was a Philips Diga. Seems like quite a popular first phone.

I was 14 and had a Nokia 3210 I think. Was a fantastic phone at the time. Just goes to show how much things have changed.

It was a neccesity really when i was young, i stay quite far outwards of the village i live in, and was out nearly every night with freinds at the park, the mobile just made things perfect

Needs new monitor / speakers / headphones / keyboard.
Before that i need money :s
