Dont buy that deal. ViaMichelinis rubbish and if you dont plan to use it a double waste of money. TBH its a very underpowered and under spec PDA but you can buy it without ViaMichelin which would save money and tomtom would give you much better overall setup.
o ok but i still need to get a gps reciever if i was to buy the pda on its own i found this other pda which is slightly faster and double the memory than the one above.

There are 2 things you want to be looking for from a portable SatNav:
1. Quality of the mapping/routing software. TomTom is generally considered the best.
2. Quality of the GPS receiver. SirfStar3 is considered to be very good.
3. If you want a speed cameras database, you'll probably have to get a PocketPC eg. Dell Axim and then buying the GPS receiver and software seperately.
I use a Acer N35 with the TomTom5. Its been excellent although after a year's worth of use, the battery seems to be playing up slightly.
TomTom1 would a decent alternative.
buy a map...
Why didnt i think of that? Doh!Originally Posted by Gibb0N

The road agnel nav 6000 has a speed camera database on it and i might get that sat nav instead. does anyone know any sites that have reviewed this product?
Why are you ignoring TomTom? The One is only about £215

Don't bother with that, it's just a database of POI's (points of interest). You can get them free (and updated more frequently) from www.pocketgpsworld.com. You can also get them for other packages and Palm etc.Originally Posted by directhex
Which makes me wonder why there's a need to buy anything other than TomTomOriginally Posted by dangerous_dom

I agree, i would only use TomTom. But a PDA + TomTom is better than a TomTom one when you think about all the other things you can do with a PDA.Originally Posted by Howard

lol, so a pda like the one posted above is suitable for a navigation system? i heard that the car holder that comes with the ipaq is not good and has stated before, its a very under performed pda
I must say, a pda with a navigator is more appealing than a stand alone sat nav. How does the traffic alert system work in sat navs? do they come has standard or must you pay for the service or purchase a third party software?
i would like to get a sat nav with a traffic alert system so that i can avoid the nightmare of sitting down in traffic all day!! cheers
For the live traffic updates with TomTom you need to subscribe to thier 'Plus' service, it a extra cost. Don't know about other systems though sorry.Originally Posted by j.o.s.h.1408
