The PS3 is actually going to cost 450 quid. Now that's even funnier!

Most people in the UK don't even have a HDTV yet and even then the chances it'll support 1080i at a native resolution is basically none. The BluRay player which is meant to be a massive selling point will play probably a few movies, and will then most likely die as a format as everyone else adopts HDDVD, I mean UMDs, MiniDiscs didn't exactly cause the revolution that was intended.
So £450 for er... A console that so far looks likes its got worse image quality in game than the Xbox 360 (from the screens I've seen).
This time last year I knew 7 people who had preordered the Xbox 360, I know exactly 0 people who have preordered the PS3. That to me says everything.

i think the punchline to the sony joke will be when the cheap WII comes out and trashes them in sales
This is untrue. GamesTM magazine asked Sony this and they explicitly denied it saying that it wasn't possible to lock the game to a specific console. Watch out for it in the PS4 though...Originally Posted by axis09
I wonder if there's any truth that the games will cost £75 each. I think the 360 games at £50 a throw were effing extortionate so £75 is definitely a joke.

PS3 will still sell like hot cakes on a hot tin roof, being sold by a hot woman in hot pants. Mark my words.
Unfortunately I think you're right. There're plenty of drug dealing chavs out there aching to get some more bling.

I'm not so sure, the market has shifted quite a lot since the PS2 launch. Consumers are a lot more tech savvy, and a lot more aware of how the gaming market is.Originally Posted by Stewart

Plus 3 months before the PS2 launch everyone HAD to have one - this is not the case with the PS3.
There was no alternative in terms of power back then - now there is a cheaper and pratcially equal machine in the shape of the Xbox 360, theres also the much cheaper option of Wii.
Anyone think that the Wii could be a surprise hit? I'll certainly be giving it a once over.

Oh good grief.
It's bad enough with the mud-slinging on most of the other sites out there.. I thought we were better than this..
PS3 will be £425 for the 60GB version, Games will cost about the same as the 360 games do, I'm sure drug-dealing chavs buy 360's as well..
*sigh*

Theres no mud-slinging matey... just comments on whether Sony have simply priced themselves out of the market this time. I'd like the PS3 to suceed as much as X360 and Wii. Personally I can't see it thats all I'm saying.
And yes Bluecube I'm sure I'll be Wii'ing quite a bit, I especially look forward to playing with my Wii when my friends are about, hopefully they'll be interested in playing with my Wii too
Who's mud slinging? We're having a heated debate here and everyone's agreeing the PS3 is pants. That's democracy in action!Originally Posted by Stoo
